My service engine soon light came on and stays on. Every time that I reset it, it comes back on instantly. Sometimes when I go up hills on the interstate and I'm going about 70-75 mph the engine will bog down and not let me accelerate and the service engine soon light starts flashing. Please help. It's a 2003 Chevrolet s10 v6 vortec

Was the oil changed?

Best use OBD II scanner,read the code and fix it.Sometimes to rest helps too.

take it to a parts store they will it for free and see what the code is

In most cases the check engine light indicates a sensor is bad. Have a mechanic scann it and if so replace it.....hope this info helps and if so Please leave rating on this post and good luck..

She didn't do anything wrong at all. Your truck is just fine and doing what it was designed to do. That's a normal indicator that comes on to remind you to get the oil changed. It's supposed to get reset every time the oil gets changed and frequently, Quickie Lube and other instant oil change shops will overlook resetting it. Look in your owners manual under "Resetting the Service Engine indicator light" and you can reset it yourself. Or just get the oil changed and tell them to make sure and reset it.

The Service Engine Soon indicator light tells the Service tech that the Pathfinder's ECM detected and Issue with the engine's management system. Your going to have to get the Pathfinder Scanned for DTC codes so you can addressed the issues that is in the ECM's history. Once the issues have been addressed, the Service engine light will reset it self or the service tech can reset it for you. The light will stay on or come back if the issues have not been repaired. This means it's time for a service..But have it diagnosed with a computer and maybe sometimes resetting it solves this problem.If the light comes back again then you need a servicing of the engine.

ok you service engine light is you computer telling you that something is not right.
try unhooking your negative on your battery ( that resets the codes) if this persists then invest in a code reader, let me know what codes come up

hi, this is just a reset issue. sometimes the CPU can become confused. the original warning that informed you about your gas cap is still in the cpu's memory. you will have to reset the cpu and, this will clear the warning. After the reset, it will stay off. chevy cpu's tend to do this from time to time.

1. Turn the ignition key to the RUN position.
2. Press the INFO button on the Driver Information Center (DIC) button to display ENGINE OIL LIFE.
3. Fully push and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes 2 times, the system is reset. However if the light comes on and stays on for 5 seconds, the system did not reset. Repeat the he procedure if the system does not reset.
4. Turn the ignition OFF.
