after much research, on a 2008 Beetle, the fuse that controls the 12 V outlets is #27, in the fuse box on the drivers side, easily accessible.

In most cases the check engine light indicates a sensor is bad. Have a mechanic scann it and if so replace it.....hope this info helps and if so Please leave rating on this post and good luck..

IF HAZARD LIGHTS ARE ALSO MALFUNCTIONING REPLASE THE HAZARD SWITCH.THE RELAY IS INSIDE.

You possibly have antifreeze in your engine where it dont belong, like the exhaust manifold if it was coming out of your exhaust. One reason it wont start is that either the head gasket went out and anitfreeze is leaking in that way or the manifold gasket is out and its getting in the combustion chambers to the pistons.

Check for a burnt fuse. If not pull door panel off check for power at switch. If good replace switch.
