I bought a Chevy Trailblazer, used, had keyless remote access Viper Alarm after manufacturer. Had trouble with transmission and alarm....took to Chevy dealer they replaced transmission. Now the remote functions intermittently (new battery..not the issue). Yesterday, blue light on alarm under dash blinking with car off..key in ignition alarms sounds...unable to turn it off. Car able to go into gear and driveable with alarm sounding. Alarm eventually goes off by hitting buttons nothing specific done. Alarm off and car driveable...then when car off...blue light blinking...put key in ignition and brakes lock again...take key out alarm still sounding....put key back in able to put in gear drive car and alarm sounds able to turn off after one hour alarm goes off. Car still driveable but same scenario when key in ignition again...HELP!!!!!

You need to find the black push button called the valet button. That is the overide. Get in the car turn the key to IGN as the alarm is going off and then you have either 5 or 10 seconds to push that button once and then 2-5 seconds later the alarm is shut off. To put the car into valet mode which means no alarm at all you put the key to IGN push that button once then pull key out at which point the blue light should turn solid blue.

Or option two is you open a door and hit the lock, then unlock, then lock button again on the remote and the blue led will be solid which means no crazy alarm.

I assume the factory alarm was somehow bypassed when they installed the remote start is there a way I can make the factory alarm work when the doors are opened without key,?

To arm content theft alarm.
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the door with the power door lock switch or
the remote keyless entry transmitter. The
SECURITY light should flash.
3. Close all doors. The SECURITY light should go off
after approximately 30 seconds. The alarm is not
armed until the SECURITY light goes off.

If a locked door is opened without the key or the remote keyless entry transmitter, the alarm will go off. The headlamps and parking lamps will flash for two minutes, and the horn will sound for 30 seconds, then will turn off to save the battery power.

I have a 2002 yukon denali. Somehow my viper alarm needs reset. I cannot start the truck. When I replaced the car battery it was fine. Now when I press the buttons on my remote it does not do anything....

Your 2002 Denali is equipped with a security system from the manufacturer. The installation of aftermarket security systems such as the one you are describing is just trouble waiting for a place to happen.

General Motors has published several Technical Service bulletins regarding such aftermarket equipment and warns of the problems that can occur including No-Start conditions, trouble with the keyless entry system, engine misfire problems, transmission shifting problems and severe damage to high-dollar parts like catalytic converters.

My professional recommendation is to remove all of the aftermarket equipment from the vehicle and resore the vehicle wiring harnesses to a condition that would be acceptable to the people that built the vehicle.

We purchased a 1990 Chev truck with a viper alarm and the keyless remote is pretty well shot. How do we determine the model so that we can order a new remote? Many times we cannot get the truck to start...

Unless the remote is identified by a model # then your going to have to get the model & S/N on the alarm control box itself.
The remote should have a number on it RPN
Replacement Part Number xxxx

Alarm goes off when key open the door

Dealer is correct that you have too replace the bcm, so i would tell you to call junk yard and get one. Cheap $ 50.00 put it in by yourself. Right hand side of the glove compartment. behind the fuse box with couple connectors on it, or have some person with knowledge to do it.
