2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Questions & Answers
2002 trailblazer has code p1512
Hello. To fix this issue before you replace your throttle body. Open your fuse box and make sure the 3 shiny bolts are tight as they act as ground and come lose from vibration.. let me know if you need more help.
Hoist to lower spare tire does not work.
Same thing happened to me on my 2002 trailblazer. The last few wraps of the cable was corroded to the point that it wouldn't unwind with the tool supplied. First thing to do is cut the crimped end of the cable off with a grinder or cut off wheel but don't forget to support the spare. This will get the spare out of your way then simply take out the 3 mounting bolts for the cable hoist. At this point you could buy a new cable hoist from the dealer and install it yourself or you might be able to do what I did. I managed to pull and remove about a foot of the rusted cable, slide the rectangular metal piece, that actually holds the spare at the center of the wheel, back on the cable and attach a 1/4" cable clamp to the end of the cable which of course must be in good condition. There should still be enough cable to re-attach your spare to it and hoist it back up. Don't forget to lube things up so it won't happen again. Good luck. (buying a new one sounds better, doesn't it?)

Shift Lock Release
This vehicle is equipped with a shift lock release system.
If your vehicle has a dead battery and you need to
have your vehicle towed, there is a shift lock release
lever that will allow you to move the shift lever out
of PARK (P).
To access the shift lock release lever, do the following:
1. Press on the sides of the boot around the shift lever
to release the boot.
2. Lift up the boot on the shift lever and you will see an
orange lever.
3. Press the orange lever down and move the shift lever
out of PARK (P).
4. Snap the shift lever boot back in place.

My "Gate Ajar" light is on eventhough the back
Mine was doing same thing. 03 trailblazer. Mine ended up being the 4 prong connector sensor gear was out of alignment. You have to take the entire latch out to remove the sensors. You can then rotate or realign the gear for the gate ajar switch. This was after realigning the gears.
Replacing license plate lights on Chevy Trailblazer
I just had the same problem. I took the cover off, saw the white bulb base, twisted it to take it out, but it popped back inside the door. I got it out, but it wouldn't pull through, so I twisted it back in place and went to Autozone to get new bulb. Once I saw the new bulb, it was obvious, just the bulb itself pulls out. There's so little room to work, I couldn't get it with just my fingers - - maybe rubber gloves would have worked, but I used pliers, lightly, wiggled it a little and it popped right out. I had a similar issue once with the taillight bulb and had to break the bulb and then grip the remaining filament wires with pliers to get it out, so that was my backup plan, just in case.
Hope this helps others.
2002 chevy traailblazer head gasket replacement and put it back to gether
If you are asking how to do this, it is not easy, it is very complex and takes a long time. The big points: Drain the coolant, disconnect battery, take off the intake manifold, take of the exhaust manifold, remove the head, clean the head and check for warp and cracks, clean the block and remove all debris from cylinders, install gasket, put head back on, put manifolds back on, replace coolant, change oil, connect the battery. You may have issues with bolts that break or strip out the block, you should send the head in to be checked, the valves and springs should be checked and those seals replaced, you need special tools and reference materials.
