I have right now the same problem. I just pulled the fancy/shmancy radio head out of my (Honda) 1992 Acura Integra and the whole dash is now a mess. It had been professionally installed. The dome light now doesn't work, the "door open" warning lights stay on, the clock is messed up, etc. I installed the fancy head in another car, in a 1992 Honda Civic. That works perfectly. Sounds like you need to find a professional installer to re-do your new head. I think the dash lights and the taillights are on the same circuit/fuse.
My 97 Rodeo had the same problem. No Tail lights, no. Dash lights. There is also an annoying buzzer that goes with the set telling you the lights are on, there is no key in the ignition and your door is open. (you don't notice it when it's gone but you sure notice it when it's back) The Fuse (taillight Illum) was good, The Light relay under the hood was good and all bulbs were good. What fixed this problem was replacing the tail light relay which is located in a panel just to the left of the brake pedal also called the kick panel.Inside there are 3 relays. I replaced the one in the middle and got everything to work. If you need to identify the relay you can put your hand over it and then turn the lights on and off. The correct relay should click. Mine was the middle one. Hope this helps someone because it stumped me for months.
Had this problem on my 1995 K1500. Take your front blinkers out and see if the wires are rubbing on the frame causing it to short out. Took me 4 months to figure this out.
that is a high compression ratio for a leaking motor. The blue smoke is from oil burning, it's either blown piston rings, valve seal problems. Or possibly a sludge problem in the car. This is a major concern probably need a short block for the car.
This could get ugly but here is a link that should help you figure out what your check light is telling you.....Also to reset this light, Google " how to reset a check light on a 97 integra" here's the link to figure out what it means: http://www.modifiedlife.com/how-to-diagnose-a-check-engine-light-on-1997-acura-integra/
it sounds like who ever hooked up the remote starter may have crossed wires I would recommend takeing it back to who installed the remote starter and have them look to make sure something is not crossed in the system
look for your main box there should be a fuse for your taillights check for continuity use a test light, but if does voltage check the wiring for voltage, ground that goes to the taillights after checking for voltage and ground and figure out if it has voltage or a good ground then if all the test and figure that it has those the only way is the bulb that causing it so go buy one......
