You say the "fuses" are all good but did you use a 12 volt test light and checked that 12 volts of power is going in and out of the fuse for the dome lights when the doors are open?

SOURCE: dome lights won't turn off

Been having a problem with the dome lights on a 99 chevy blazer. Still can't figure out what the problem is. There is a dome light overide button located under the dimmer wheel. When I push the overide button in the dome light goes off, but when I open any of the doors the dome light will not come on. When the overide button is out the dome light stays on all the time and will not turn off even though every door is closed. I checked all the pushbuttons and everything tests good. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

SOURCE: 02 SS Monte Carlo , dash lights have quit working,

this only occured when the ambient light sensor turned on the headlights when it got to dark. if that is happening then check the headlight switch, the one that also dims the interior lights. mine had a burnt connector and fried the circuit board. replaced it and it works good. check for lose wires and connectors in there as well which likely caused the short.

SOURCE: Our 2003 Toyota Camry has dome light problems.

Hi
Locate the switch in the door jam and exercise it to try to make it worl.
Spray some lube in it.
Some models have the option to NOT turn on dome light when doors open..
Does it not work for all doors????
That will be in the owners manual. You can find that online
Good luck

2000 chevy monte carlo door latch assy. replacement

all the lights above the dash do not work ?????? DOME light's ??? No light's come on when you open the door or any door ? Wouldn't think all the door ajar switches bad at one time .
Interior Lamps
The interior lamps consists of two groups, lamps that can not be dimmed and lamps that can be dimmed. This first group consists of lamps that may not be dimmed. This Includes those lamps that may be manually turned on by placing the interior lamp switch to the DOME position, or by opening a door or a compartment:
• Auxiliary dome lamp (SEO, RPO 6C7)
• Dome lamp
• instrument panel (I/P) compartment lamp
• Inside rear view mirror lamps
• I/P courtesy lamps
• Reading lamps
• Rear compartment courtesy lamp
• Sunshade vanity mirror lamps
Battery positive voltage is applied at all times to the DIC/RKE fuse and to the switched side of the BATT RUNDOWN PROTECTION relay in the right I/P junction block. The DIC/RKE fuse supplies battery positive voltage to the coil side of the BATT RUNDOWN PROTECTION relay. When the ignition is turned to the ON position, the body control module (BCM) provides a ground to the Inadvertent relay control circuit. This energizes the BATT RUNDOWN PROTECTION relay and applies battery positive voltage to I/P BRP fuse and to the TRK/ROOF/BRP fuse. Battery positive voltage is applied from the I/P BRP fuse to the I/P courtesy lamps, I/P compartment lamp and to the I/P compartment feed circuit to the BCM. Battery positive voltage is also applied from the TRK/ROOF/BRP fuse to the:

If the BCM receives a door lock or unlock input signal, the BCM will activate the BATT RUNDOWN PROTECTION relay, which provides battery positive voltage to all interior courtesy lamps. When any door is opened, the door jam switch contacts close and the BCM receives a door-open input signal. The BCM then applies a ground to the theater dimming ground control circuit illuminating the courtesy and dome lamps.
After all the doors are closed, the courtesy lamps remain illuminated for approximately 40 seconds. The courtesy lamps will also turn on and remain illuminated for approximately 15 seconds after the ignition key is removed, prior to any door being opened.
When the headlamp switch is placed in the DOME position, the BCM receives a ground signal. The BCM then applies a ground to the theater dimming ground control circuit. This illuminates the dome and roof rail lamps.
The courtesy lamps will normally turn off using the theater dimming feature. The BCM provides a pulse width modulated ground to all courtesy/reading, dome, and inside rear view mirror lamps for the theater dimming feature. The BCM will immediately turn off the courtesy lamps if a door lock command is received with all the doors closed, or if the ignition switch is turned to either the ON or RUN position.
The BCM activates the interior lighting output 15 seconds after receiving the class 2 message "Airbags Deployed" from the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM). The interior lamps remain activated for 25 minutes.

The door ajar switch is part of the lock actuator inside the door !

My dash board lights are out in 2004 chevy monte carlo

If all of the lights are out including the HVAC panel, I would look for a blown fuse or problem with the dimmer switch.

2004 montie carlo: light on dash saying door ajar, dome light stays on, power locks go nuts, the ding ding noise all coming on. Any ideas?

This could be a loose earth for the door harness, broken/chaffed wiring in the door jam (hinge area). Or as simple as a defective locking solenoid (Door Catch Assembly). Some investigation in these areas will be needed. Hope this helps...

My 2001 Monte Carlo with 115k on odometer has an electrical problem... first off my air fan speed control only works on number 5, second, as I am driving the vehicle the door ajar light will come on and...

it sounds like the fan speed switch is a bad relay pack usually the lower speeds will run throw the relay pack and high bypasses it. I am not sure about your other problems but I would start by looking at the switch in the door could be a problem there.

My mom's 1985 monte carlo headlights has stoped working she has no dome light and no panel lights. she dose have break lights and turn signels. could it be a fuse or the switch?

Probably the headlight switch. To remove the pull out part of the switch, there is a button on the switch that you push while pulling on the knob. The nut that holds the switch to the dashboard can then be turned counter clockwise to remove. Drop the switch and unplug the wiring.
