1989 buick lasbre blower fan

I have found three other components, The blower motor resistor which is directly below the windshield and is held in by three 7mm bolts and the 4 wire connector that plugs into it; the relay which is a black box to the passenger side of the car; and the switch on the dash. They are al $6 to $20 parts. and I would start in the same order

Started cutting out. then quit

Get a spray can of either (starting fluid) While someone cranks the engine spray SMALL amounts of the fluid into the air intake. I stress small amounts a little at a time so you don't blow the engine. If the engine does start I would check to see if you have water in the fuel system first and if not I would check the fuel pump pressure.

How do you remove the

The heater conrol has to be removed first but not all the way just out far enought to get ot the back of it with the control pulled out the 1/4 in headed screws can be removed and the switch after the knob has been removed can be taken off the back of the panel. he switches that have failed most of the time the plug that pluggs into the switch also fails and it'll need to be replaced also. this pig tail is a common replace ment part and your parts store shoul have it to. and but it when you buy the switch so you can check it and see that it fits. Now also but the heater blower motor as it's drawing too much power and it'll burn out the new switch too and if it wren't bad the switch would'of never failed.

How to tighten 1989 steering column?

There is a u-joint inside the steering column if you have tilt wheel. Which I don't think that I have ever seen a steering column get loose if there is not tilt wheel. If there is not tilt wheel then there are two bolts that hold the steering column up against the bottom side of the dash. You will just need to tighten these two bolts. If you do have tilt wheel, then it is going to require taking the steering column out and replacing the u-joint in the steering column.

How to replace the magnet for the cam sensor

I worked on Buick's for 18 years and this was a bad design. unfortunately the magnet snaps in from the back side of the cam gear their is no cheating this one. My experiences with these was that by the time the plastic retainer on the magnet got brittle enough to cause problems with the magnet the timing chain was worn out any way, so if is worth fixing just replace the timing chain and gears and your magnet Good Luck
