I had the same problem. All you need to do is put in your cook time first, then adjust the power level. So time cook, whatever # of minutes, power level, then # power level. Hope this helps.

I would dispose and replace the whole. Sounds if the insulation has been compromised,making it dangerous and life threatening to use.They are now so affordable that repair is only justified on top end units.

Most microwave ovens contain a heavy transformer that produces a lethally high voltage that is half-wave rectified by a diode, smoothed by a capacitor and drives a magnetron. The transformer also provides a low voltage for the magnetron cathode heater. There are also lightweight microwaves that use an inverter instead of a transformer... Remove the control panel, take pictures of the door switch wiring while they are still connected to the door switches, then remove the door switch assembly. Perhaps it is the sound of the underside of the oven platter becoming engaged with the drive spigot underneath it. If so it may well be normal for your particular oven.

Convection needs fan drive to force the air into the oven cavity. The fan may be direct motor drive or belt driven. If the latter the belt may be broken or simply have stretched and come off. Before removing the cover of the oven in attempt to carry out any maintenance such as replacing the Oven cavity lamp, make sure the oven is disconnected from the power point ! The voltages in a microwave oven ARE LETHAL !

Hi Toan, first question is how old is the microwave? If it is less than 5 years with no other problems, then yes it's worth fixing. If it's older than 5 years or has other minor problems it might not be worth it. Check the cost of new before fixing and call a repair company in your area to compare prices. Hope that helps.

problem lies on control board

My initial guess is that the thermo fuse is blown. Simple to replace, only need a Phillips screwdriver. Heres a YouTube video describing how to proceed.

You could try a new plug just in case, next the fuse inside or thermal cut out could be @ fault, could be the cable transformer end as it enters the micro.....
