VR8,VR1,VR2, VR3 AND VR 4 THESE ARE THE ADJUSTMENT POINTS FOR THE S-METER FOR AM AND SSB WITH A LITTLE CW INCLUDED.

VR -13 ,14,15. there is special adjustments to these that you must know so I would go to www.cbtricks.com and get more information on this radio.

Is this a new radio? If it is then get a return request from Galaxy and send it back. If not new then is it for a friend or from a friend to be repaired. If not either then why did you touch the inside without knowing what to do. Go online to www.cbtricks.com and look up Galaxy,get the service manual and repair it the best you can but when it still doesn't work then take it to a tech and have him do it right.

adjust vc- 1 on counter display

what do you mean unstable ? Is it flickering ,does it have pieces of the numbers missing ,What is it ????

hook up a frequency counter and adjust L14 and L15.

If you have a ham license to operate this radio then you should know.

do you even have a frequency counter? If you do and know how to use it then hook it up and to see what freq. you are on ,then you can set it from inside the radio. I think its vr 24 ?But you should check the alaignment section for this radio to get the exact information you request.

could be but check the reverse polarity diode first and see if its blown. If it is replace it with the same diode .1n4001

might be just a loose wire.turn on the echo and play with the wires that go to it to see if it comes on then you have got it now fix it.

set your radio meter to modulation and just key the mic.Now say something .watch the needle on the meter and it will swing.

call galaxy again they will send you to a different tech.or you could just say heck with them and take it to the tech of your choice. Sounds like he never finished the job and there are more then one cold solder spots.

you should take it to a tech to check it out . there is a symptom called thermal intermittent.when the radio gets hot it stops transmitting.the oposite is also true and to find the problem a soldering iron would work but if you are not careful you could zap the radio..You would need a commercial thermal spot tester to accomplish thischeck the obvious first until you find the actual problem.

turn off your radio. if you have cable you shouldn't have to worry about tvi . If it does both your tv then all you have to do is get a filter and problem solved.

you must have a watt meter to do this correctly. turn vr 16 which is your low power and vr13 which is your high power.Adjust these to bring down your DK and vr 14 to bring up your modulation. if you want it lower you have to get into the radio and if you don't have the proper equipment you cannot do it , also you must be a qualified tech to go much further.
