It will improve your range in transmit but won't do much to help in receiving distant stations. It's also ******* to use an amplifier with CB radio's, so you really might want to think before you use your amp. Make sure that you have a power supply that is large enough to handle the current for both you amplifier and radio. Use #10 or #12 wire for the amp if you are pulling power from more than a couple of feet or so.

bad swr, extreamly high.Re adjust your antenna for the lowest swr and it should go away. If your galaxy has TB turn it off,that could also be the problem.

Galaxy II and the SSB model should be the same . Go to CB tricks and check it out . They both have the same board.

First of all this radio is not a cb radio although you can get the cb frequencies on it. Secondly if you don't know then maybe you adjust it . Thirdly, you need to be certified to do do what you intend on doing to that radio or have a tech present while you do the work. You need a service manual that tells you which variables to adjust and how much to adjust them .

It sounds like your microphone has a problem. Test it on another radio and/or check the connections in the microphone connector. This is a very common problem on any radio. If you have the same problem on the other radio, then the problem is your microphone. Other wise, take the radio in for repair.

if the radios were stored away in a moist environment , your problem might be that the internal speakers were damaged and now don't work , they were made from paper and high moisture seems to destroy paper , id try using a (good)external speaker plugged in the sound output jack to verify this theory

you may have cracked the pcb board and its shorting out the audio and thus making it squeal. Best to take it to a tech and let them tell you whats wrong .

You might have it flipped to SSB instead of AM on one of the front mounted switched. It's the switch right under the freq. counter. The switch right above the volume needs to be in the power mode, and the GNF switch needs to be in the CB mode-not on PA.

did you turn the radio on? There are a lot of possibilities . Could be a final or just a simple fix like a diode but without a service manual don't attempt to fix it . You can get the service manual at www.cbtricks.com .
