What is diode audio limit on a 979 galaxy cb
The diode audio limiter is detecting when your audio levels are too high and clips the audio waveform, limiting the strength of the signal before it is further amplified by your audio amplifier. When the diode audio limiter is working, it is therefore helping eliminate static and pops that are annoying, and keep you from clearly hearing the desired signal.
No transmit on am on my galaxy 66 v every thing else works fine
I would check the wires and push to talk switch for your microphone. Likely the continuity is broken due to either a broken connection at the plug, the wire itself, or the push to talk switch. Use an ohm meter with the microphone unplugged and put the two test leads of the ohm meter across the two pins on the microphone plug that controls the on off function. When you press the push to talk switch if the ohm meter does not read near zero ohms, your problem is in your mic connections,

the problem is one you may not be able to work on . It will take a scope and a spectrum analyzer along with an RFSG to get this one working . Some simple ??. Does the radio come on ? Check with your hand passing over the radio to check for hot spots? The best thing to do is get it to a tech and let them work on it.

final ? this radio has a problem of waiting for itself to warm up before operating correctly. . I have worked on several that have the same problem and the customers tell me that letting the radio warm up and you can hear the static come through the speaker then you are able to talk on the radio .

turn off the GNF so the signal can get through.If that doesn't work then try turning the squelch all the left . Its possible the squelch control inside the radio for AM is turned off .
