IT WON'T PRINT DO i NEED A USB CABLE IF SO WERE DO i PLUG IT INTO ON PRINTER? THANK YOU ALSO DO i NEED A BLACK INK CARTRIDGE?

Hello Grannie,

You will need a printer USB cable to connect the printer to your computer. These cables a standard for all printers and look something like thispatzky.jpg.
You should find a square like opening on the back of the printer to connect the cable.

As for the ink cartridges, I believe lexmark only requires either a color cartridge or a black cartridge to be installed. Use one of the two and the printer should work.

Thanks,

Pat

Cannot print from computer. printer will print test pages, though

How the printer is connected to PC Via USB or using Network Cable. If it is connected Netwrok cable than printer configuration page and on netwrok configuration there will be IP Address if this is valid IP Address than reinstall drivers and upgrade the Firmware of the printer.

If Printer is connected USB than try different USB Cable and try different USB Port on the computer
If USB port on the computer is working fine and check in Device Manager if the printer has detected as unknown device or not detected at all.
If detected as unknown device than reinstall printer driver if not detected at all than USB Port on the printer is faulty you need to set up hardware repair of the printer.

Cannon printer pixma ip 1600 ink absorber full

Dear khalid,
To fix this problem you need to reset waste ink counter of the printer by using General Tools for Canon ip1200 series (General Tools for ip1300 & 1800 series also works on this printer)
Perform following step to reset waste ink counter:
  • Enter service mode:
-Plug in power cable while holding power button.
-Press RESUME button twice
  • Connect USB cable (you may also connect USB cable before entering service mode, no problem).
  • Run General Tool
  • Select USB port
  • Click waste ink counter: Main & Platen
  • Turn off the printer then turn on and run your printer as usual.
I think it will be more helpful with picture enclose. For I cannot insert image more than 150 kb here, I suggest you to visit Canon Inkjet Printer Forum. I have discussed this topic before.
Please rate me.

Printer connection

You have to open the scanner as you would do to change the ink carts. the usb connector is opposite to the ink cartridges INSIDE the printer. The cable has to be let thru the channel which can be quite well be good seen.
