This depends on one of two things the modem and your printer. If you have a manual have a look in it. Other wise, check internet for user manual for printer and modem.
Hope this helps

How to make mp760 wifi

This printer has only an USB connection that connects to your computer and cannot connect to wireless network directly. You can attach this printer to a wireless printer server/router to enable wireless printing.
OR
SET UP A SHARED NETWORK PRINTER
Any printer that is connected to a computer and is connected on a LAN can be configured so all other computers on the same network can print to this printer. This means the computer with the printer attached to it MUST be booted up at all times when other computers want to access the printer. You need to install the printer driver on the computer and configure it as a Shared printer. The other computers on the network need to add this printer to their computer. Follow these steps to set-up a shared network printer :- 1. Connect the printer to the computer and install the printer driver. 2. Open Printers and Faxes - right click on this printer and click Sharing - click Sharing tab and click Share this printer, and then if you wish you could change the Share name, then click OK 3. Right click on the printer - click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printer installation. Follow these steps to configure the computers on your network :- 1. Open Printers and Faxes - click Add a printer - Next - select a network printer, or a printer attached to another computer - Next. 2. Select Browser for a printer - Next 3. Click on and expand the Microsoft Windows Network down to the computer with the printer - Next 4. Select Yes for - Use this printer as the default printer - Next - Finish 5. Right click on the printer - click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printer installation.

The printer I use is brother MFC-7840W. It sits next to my computer. I have employees who wirelessly print to the it but in order for it to broadcast wirelessly I have to unplug the network cable from my...

I dont think you have the network set up in the correct way. You should be using a wireless router. If it is a 4 port router, your computer network cable should be in port number 1, the printer can be be wireless or cabled into port 2 of the router. This way you have the internet and can still print wirelessly to the printer and so can anyone else.

How to hook up a wireless printer to a computer

Does the printer also have some "wired" interface (parallel-port, or USB-port)?

If not, then you need to purchase a router with wireless capability:

1. Connect cable-modem (or DSL-modem) to the 'WAN' (or 'IInternet') port on the router.

2. Connect one of the 'LAN' ports on the router to the network-port on your computer.

3. Configure the wireless-adapter inside the router:
* set an SSID -- the "name" of your wireless network
* encryption-level -- use 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
* a password for your network

4. Configure the wireless printer to connect to that SSID, using the password

5. On the computer, click "Add Networked Printer"

6. Print a "test" page: computer -> wired -> router -> wireless -> printer

I have a hp PSC 1610 all in one printer, connected to a hp desktop computer. I have a lynsys wireless router connected for a wireless network in the house, the desktop is the main computer for this...

Two ways to do this:
Since this is a USB printer and not a network printer you have to create a "share":

1. On the main computer that has the printer attached, go to the printer properties (START, PRINTERS AND FAXES, Right-click on the printer icon and select "sharing"
2. Select the Sharing" tab and select "Share this printer" radial.
3. Enter a short name for the printer in the "Share Name" box, such as: HP1610
4. Save that configuration and remember the "Name" you gave the share.

At each computer on your network:
1. Go to the printer setup sceeen (see #1 above)... and "ADD A PRINTER"
2. Select "Network" printer (not local printer)
3. Select "search for printers and the HP1610 will appear on the list.
4. Select it and follow the instructions from there...

Hope this helps!

Wireless printing

The printer has o go through a router to work for the other two computers. The only other solution is setting up a wireless network with internet sharing on a HOC and share all file and printer services though it. The main PC would act as a router. for $40.00 you can buy a router and make it work.

Can't connect 2 pc to 1 printer

Steps to fix your issue
  1. install printer driver on one computer
  2. Make sure both computers are connected in same network by ethernet cable or wireless connection.
  3. share the printer on 1st computer
  4. access the shared printer from 2nd computer through network
This way your can access one printer from 2 computers. This setup work only when the 1st computer is turned on because HP leaser jet don't have the capability to work as network printer as they cannot acquire IP address.
