2wire 1800hg random no internet/random access, repair/wait fixes

It seems that you said your computer gets the ip address from your router,, which means thru DHCP of the router but if you look at the DHCP settings of your wireless card inside your computer ---the DHCP is OFF -- check your ipconfig/all command as shown in your problem too,,, your wless card does not accept the new IP which comes from your router --as DHCP is OFF on your wless card and sticks with the old ip address whereas the router maintains a new ip for your computer in its table and a mismatch occurs and you loose the internet connection ,,,,thats why repair works and then again the IP changes in the router for your computer and your computer's wless card lags behind and use the old ip adress ..... DHCP--- IS DYNAMIC , WHICH MEANS IT RENEWS THE IP address after some time and you computer gets stuck to the old one ,,, hence mismatch. "you make the DHCP -ON on your wless card too. it will be fine."

Windows 7 driver

No driver needed since it does not need to be installed into Windows. Connect the ISP modem to the main port. DSL or Network port, depending on your service. Then connect your PC to any other port. That's it!.To adminstrate. Open a web browser and go to 192.168.1.254 Alternate Admin URL: http://gateway.2wire.net/setup/There is a small reset hole if it already has a password. Hold it in till it cycles. This will clear any custom settings/http://support.2wire.com/http://www.2wire.com/pages/pdfs/106.pdf

I am trying to connect to the internet using my

In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.

Try to reset your router, you are not supposed to be getting a red light. have you computer off to while you re-set it, then turn it back on.
