Nuvi 680 NA stopped announcing street names

My 2 1/2 old Nuvi 680 was working fine - giving street names at the turns. However it has stopped announcing street names since last 15 days. Everything else is working fine.
I cannot find any way to get it back to announce street names.
Can anybody please help and provide solution to this problem?
Thanks.

How do make the gps announce the street name to

Neither the Nuvi 250W nor the Nuvi 205W have Text to Speech (which is the feature that allows the unit to speak the street names), so you cannot make yours speak street names. I'm sorry.

Street names no longer announced

The 200W isn't supposed to have text-to-speech (where it actually speaks the street names). If yours did initially it was probably loaded on the unit by mistake at the factory. That feature isn't part of the 200W or it's software.

Question
: My nuvi is supposed to speak street names when giving voice prompts but it doesn't. How can I fix this?
Answer: All of the Garmin automotive GPS units that speak street names are also loaded with basic voice prompts (i.e. 'Turn Right in 500 feet') as well as 'text-to-speech' voices that speak street names. If one of the basic types of voice prompts has been selected, the voice prompts will not speak street names.
In order to change this setting on the nüvi line of products, please follow these steps:
  1. In the Main Menu, tap on the Settings icon.
  2. Tap on "Locale"
  3. The second line on this screen has a picture of a mouth. To the right, the current voice for the GPS device is listed. Tap it to change the voice.
  4. Select a voice that is labeled with (TTS) at the end. These voices will speak street names.
  5. Select "OK". The voice has now been changed.
The device should now speak street names.
