maybe a factory reset - but connect to computer and try to back up your stuff since it will erase it all.

It appears that your car charging cable has gone bad based on the symptoms.

Check with Garmin to see if there is a way of resetting the electronics to factory defaults. Also check with them to see if they have software for you to do a clean install if necessary

You need to got o the Garmin website and download Garmin Express for Windows 10 here: https://connect.garmin.com/en-US/start/ just follow the instructions to install and run the program. Plug in your Garmin device into the computer and it should find and install the updates.

The touchscreeen must be replaced. Over time, they can drift beyond the ability to recalibrate it. If you want to try and recalibrate it, here is the procedure. You can't you have to send it back to the company in Springfield, MO www.garmin.com/us/support

On the Nuvi 7xx series as well as many other nuvi models, voice updates are free and downloadable from garmin.com. Garmin only charges for map upgrades. Maps do not contain voices. I have backups of french text to speech (TTS) voices. I would be happy to give you links to download them to you.

There is a software problem with your GPS . I recommend you to reset it to solve the problem .

To reset your NUVI , please follow one of these procedurs :

1:Turn the Nuvi on.

2:Touch the tools icon on the main screen. The tools icon is represented by a wrench surrounded by a blue circle.


3:Touch the "Settings" icon which appears as a wrench.

4:Push the "Restore" button at the bottom of the screen. A confirmation message will appear asking to confirm restoring the Nuvi to factory settings. Push yes to restore the factory settings

Try this for hard reset .

Turn off Garmin device. Press down on bottom right corner of the touchscreen [ Don't let go ] , and then power on the GPS unit. You should be prompted whether do you really want to erase all user data, or asked if do you really want to start up in maintenance mode. Press “Yes” to reset (warning: all data will be erased and lost, so backup before proceeding) or enter maintenance mode.

Hiya! All you need to do is use a ds pen (or something that is plastic and will fit within the black dot) - our fingers are to big for the calibration. Ive just fixed mine. It should correct its self within 10 dots and away you go again :)
