Beeping noise Whenever we print a page, there's a loud "tone" or "beeping noise" that the printer emits. We have already returned one printer and the new one does the same thing. Is there a way to turn this off? It doesn't need to make noise-it's a printer!

I checked the Dell website and there is no mention of anything that would create noises on that model printer. Is the noise that you hear the from a speaker in the printer? or from a mechanical type source?

I've had the Dell 1720dn at my desk for years. Worked flawlessly. Moved it to a different workstation and it began beeping immediately while printing. Another site said to plug it directly into the wall, instead of a battery backup. I unplugged it from the battery backup outlet, and plugged into a surge protector only outlet on the same battery backup unit.... NO MORE BEEPING. Hope this helps someone else.

The beeping you hear is from your surge protection (ups) not the printer in my case. I have an apc ups and moved the plug to "surge protection only" port and everything working fine. the batter backup isn't strong enough to handle the load of the printer.

This beeping noise cannot be silenced. Sorry to tell you. Just a bad design.

My Canon MG8120 all-in-one makes a loud noise when copying (not when printing). How do I fix it?

Dear
from the question I understand, the scanner move to right and during return it starts noise.

The problem with scanner assembly, It might be dust accumulated on gears, the scanner belt might have loose or the grips of the belt has worn out. Proper cleaning and lubricating the moving parts may overcome also if the belt worn out it has to be replaced.
In case of at home position it gives noise then the home position sensor may dirty/dusty, it has to be cleaned.

thanks.

My printer emits a long beeping noise when printing documents

This sounds to be a faulty Primary Charge Roller in the cartridge. Easiest way to diagnose this as the problem is to replace the cartridge. If the tone is the same with the new cartridge then it is another issue. If it goes away then it will be to do with this.

I personally use an empty cartridge to test this since it is usually on hand.

Making noise

Hello tregster,

Is this the first time this happened or has this been the case ever since?

If this has been the case ever since, the beeping sound may just be an indication that the printer is preparing itself to print.

You can also try to check the ink casings if they're properly connected to your printer.

Hope that helps.

Kenmore HE3 washer emits steady, constant beeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Depending on how your washer controls the beeper, it could be a stuck relay or a fried transistor.

Noisy operation and black marks on left side of printed paper

vacuum out the waste toner passages that lead from the drum and transfer belt to the waste toner container. Toner is building up inside the transfer belt and/or drum and has no place to go except onto your paper.

Loud grinding noice before starting to print

Mine makes a grinding noise when scanning or making copies. As long as everything is working, I just tolerate the noise in which the rest of the staff find amusing at first and then ignore it as I do.
