What you are hearing is the liquid inside the balance ring at the top of the wash tub. You could set the machine in the center of your driveway and drain every drop of water from the hoses and pump, yet you would still hear the liquid in the balance ring when the machine (more specifically, the inner tub) is moved. It needs to be there to help balance out of balance wash loads.

Fisher and paykel washing machine top loader doesnt spin dry the clothes well. There isnt any water in the machine after the spin cycle but the clothes are heavy wet. What's could cause this?

Machine not spinning. Have you stood next to machine and listened? When all water is drained out (watch the drain hose for water to stop) then you should hear the spin start and hear it building up speed. If it doesn't then you need to post back here with more detail on what you could hear or see happening. i.e. how long after water stopped draining did machine finish and switch off?

I have an Energy Star front loaded washer GFWN110LoWW. It does not fill with water and makes clicking sounds for a very long time. The drum does not move.

Hello emg27

The machine has water inlet solenoids that are plastic cast into one part where you connect your hoses, H and C. If water does not enter the tub the level sensor will not close contacts sending a signal to start washing. So check water to this valve first, then you can remove the hoses from this solenoid and view the screen washers for build up of contaminates that may be preventing the water from entering, or the valve itself maybe malfuntioned. The solenoid is just a magnetic coil pickup that lifts a stopper internal of the valve. The unit is sold as a complete on piece w/both coils for H and C. The noise you hear may be the magnetic coil energized.
Good luck I hope this helps.

Dirty water runs back into washer, moving drum, you hear it.

What kind of washer. Most washers will have a balance ring in them. This balance ring has liquid sealed inside it. So you will hear water swishing when you move it.Totally normal. If water is indeed running back into the tub, you need to pull your discharge out of the wall. It should only go in about 2 ft max. Any deeper and you can get syphoning. Dave www.washermd.com
