If your Lexmark printer is displaying the message "replace toner clean printer," and you have already checked that the toner is full, there might be an issue with the toner cartridge or the printer's sensors. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

  1. Remove and Reinsert Toner Cartridge: Turn off the printer and open the front cover to access the toner cartridge. Carefully remove the toner cartridge and then reinsert it firmly into the printer. Make sure it is seated correctly in its slot.
  2. Check for Obstructions: Inspect the printer's interior for any paper jams, debris, or other obstructions that might be interfering with the toner cartridge or the printer's sensors.
  3. Check Toner Sensor: The printer has sensors that detect the toner level. Sometimes, these sensors can become dirty or malfunction. Locate the toner sensor (usually a small window or sensor on the toner cartridge) and ensure it is clean and not obstructed.
  4. Reset Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a minute or two. Plug the printer back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes clear temporary errors.
  5. Check Toner Cartridge Contacts: Ensure that the contacts on the toner cartridge and inside the printer (where the toner cartridge makes contact) are clean and free from dirt or toner residue.
  6. Check Printer Settings: Verify that the printer settings are correctly set to recognize the installed toner cartridge. If the printer allows you to manually set the toner cartridge type, make sure it matches the actual cartridge installed.
  7. Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your Lexmark printer. Updating the printer's firmware may address known issues and improve printer performance.
  8. Try a Different Toner Cartridge: If you have access to another compatible toner cartridge, try using it in the printer to see if the issue is specific to the current cartridge.

They show some light sequences and mention something about the old toner cartridge may need to be emptied/replaced. I'll let you know if I think of anything else. Tim

SOURCE: printer not printing

On the machine there is a sensor that looks trough the waste tank even though you have wiped it clean the likely thing is that the sensor cannot see through the plastic waste tank.

I suggest vacuum the waste tank out until all the toner has gone then install it. If you cannot get rid of all the toner then wash the tank out and leave to dry then install it.

Hope this helps you
Thanks J

SOURCE: Problems after replacing toner

You should just have to press the "GO" button to tell the printer that cleaning is complete and the printer will then carry on working once the toner has been added.

SOURCE: waster toner tank full/not install

The Waste Toner Cartridge must be VERY clean, especially around the "bump" directly below the left side hole. After I CAREFULLY emptied the old toner out, I used air compressor to clean every bit of toner out from inside. Then I wiped the whole area around the "bump" where the sensor "sees" if the tank is empty. Even a slight film over the area will not allow for reuse. If you do this, it works every time.

I have an MFC Brother printer and I cant copy or print...it says waste toner full??? How do I fix this problem?

What model MFC Brother Printer do you have? The waste toner is left over toner from each print or copy that isn't used. It collects in a different spot in each printer. Usually the waste toner container is with the regular toner cartridge. The printer is able to detect when the waste toner is full by a light sensor in or near that container. Sometimes excess toner collects on the sensor itself and causes it to think the waste toner is full when it actually isn't. Try finding the waste toner container and empty it or replace it. clean the sensor that is on or near the container. it is likely a small black plastic piece that has 2 or 3 small wires coming from it. The model of printer will help to identify where the container is.

Red light is on. printer wont print

Perhaps the Waste toner bottle on the left side of the drum unit is full or the sensors are dirty.

Toner smearing all over page

The problem with this printer is not the fuser. It is one of the following:

1) Imaging drum. The drum contains 4 imaging drums. One for each color. They are independent of one another on the initial image transfer and only combine after the initial image is developed. This IS a user replaceable consumable and should be tried first. If this does not resolve the problem see #2.

2) It is the magenta photo developer unit. This part is NOT a user replaceable part, and requires quite a bit of work to get to. The photo developer is located in the developer frame assembly, which can be seen behind the imaging drum when it is removed. The top cover, left side cover, HVPS, and all 4 toner feed tubes have to be removed in order to remove the photo developer frame, and after the frame is removed, the photo developer itself has to be removed from the frame and replaced. reverse disasembly to put back together.

Usually the tell tale sign for a leaking developer, other then full sheets of light color, is extream excess toner dust behind the imaging unit.

Not responding

The E000019-0000 error message simply means the waste toner is full. There is an optical beam that passes through the top of the waste toner container and when the beam gets interrupted, you will get this message. If you have the same model printer/copier (Canon IR 3300) series, unplug the machine for your safety and you will need a screw driver to remove the lower left side panel towards the back to pull out the waste toner receptacle. Dump, Clean, and replace. That should clear up the error message. Hope this helps. ~Angela~

Will not respond to print command

download the newest software from web and install it. if its not helping, check connections, if your printer has a display and menu key, you can print aut configuration and demo sheets, to see that the printer itself works. if not the last option is firmware upgrade.
