Replace the battery or the whole remote.
Cheap remotes don't have the same range as genuine OEM.

Most likely the receiver antenna is defect.
Try see if it is there and is connected correctly.
Off course you have checked the transmitter battery is full!

SOURCE: Lack of range on Garage door remote

There is a short wire hanging down from the back of the opening motor -- pull this down as far as you can and bend it so it is pointing toward the garage door. This wire acts like an antenae.

I have a code alarm ca500 remote start in my Ford Explorer I have to be real close to the car for it to start

Replace the Batteries. Until then, touch the remote to your Chin, when looking for, or approaching the Car. This will turn your head, into an Antenna Extension, and extend the Range, you may Signal the Car.

Remote will only start when i am close to vehicle

It depends on many things - mostly the range of the system itself and especially where you located the remote antenna. Some installers don't use the antenna and that will limit range severely. Most manufacturers want the antenna routed up the windshield pillar and mounted near the top of the windshield glass. This gives best reception since glass does not hinder the RF signal. OF course, a weak battery in the remote can cause range issues as well.

Remote control has very short range

1. make sure battery is inserted correctly.
2. Do you have 2 remotes? Are they both exhibiting short range? Maybe bad remote if 1 is OK and the other is not.
3. Try this to extend range: hold remote under your chin and touching your chin while pressing the button. Your head acts as an antenna to extend the range.

My Pentair Easy Touch inside remote reads 'No Comm' even though batteries are fine. I get the same message even close up to the transmitter antenna. My pool service looked at it and noticed

Your power center outside has to be "trained" again so it and the remote recognize each other. I don't have the charts in front of me but check your manual or one online. It's fairly simple to do.
If that still doesn't work, the problem may be with either the remote or the power center. Good luck with it.

The radio works and plays fine but if i put a dvd or cd in no volume the dvd does play though just no volume

Are you running the audio through an amplifier? If so, it sounds like you are using the blue wire (power antenna remote turn on) instead of the blue/white wire (amplifier remote turn on). The power antenna remote turn on turns off when leaving tuner mode, turning the amp off.

Range of control only 3mtr ? SHOULD IT BE MORE ?

Yes. Normal range 50-100 meters depending on surroundings and conditions. I'll assume it's fully charged and remote has it's metal antenna extended and strong batteries. Have you messed with the helicopter's antenna? The grey or black wire that came wrapped around one of the landing skids? If so, you must put it back, coiled tightly but not pulling on connection to circuit board, and not touching the metal frame above the landing skid. If none of these is the issue, or fixing them doesn't help the issue, then your bird is likely defective. Sounds a lot like an antenna that's been mucked with....

Let me know if this doesnt help

My Craftsman remote won't close my garage door

If the remote opens and closes while inside the garage but not outside , there are a few things it could be. Assuming it was working fine before..
1. weak battery in remote.
2. remote itself could be bad. (unless you have more than 1 remote acting the same)
3. Logic board in opener is going bad causing limited range. Is the wire that hangs down from the opener straightened out? That is your remote antenna. Some people have coiled or even cut it off..reducing range.
4. Less likely but this can happen- interference from another electronic device, wireless routers, cell phone, new appliances etc.. can reduce remote range. Any new electronics recently purchased?

No range for my Bulldog Remote Start.

Get a Viper 5900, it has a 1 mile + range
Or a viper 5601 has a 2000 ft range.

Bulldog is DIY and entry level stuff. You cant expect much from them.

The wire antennas work the best when they are stretched out. Not wadded in a ball or in a loop. If you have to loop it use figure 8's. Try streatching it up the "A" pillar and in the headliner across the top of the windshield. Also, do not ground the antenna, and let the end hang.

Also check your hot and ground connections. Make your ground at the kick panel sheet metal. Do not use a factory ground or a metal bracket in the dashboard. Do use a file or sandpaper to buff the ground site to the bare metal.

Antennas Uniden Bearcat BC148XLT

Height and placement of the antenna determines range. Also, check to see you have the antenna perpendicular to the ground (straight up), and place the antenna where it has 19" clear around it. (not up against a wall or other obstruction)

Placing the existing antenna higher, or replacing it with an external antenna would give you more range. A simple test before purchasing a new connector, coax and antenna for the scanner, would be to place the scanner where you think you would place an antenna and see if it gives you the range you desire.

External antennas are available from most any radio shop. (They would need to know what type of connector you need to connect the coax to the back of the unit.)
