SOURCE: Samsung CLX-2160, keep getting faded

Everyone will tell you that it's the Imaging Unit - happy to say that's not true. If it was the imaging unit the colors would not come out right either. I bet if you print a test page that all the colors come out fine across the page. It's only the black.

Also - if you replace the black toner cartridge, or reinstall your printer and drivers like some people will tell you - still no results.

The problem is in the black toner cartridge PATH inside the printer. Something has jammed it up a bit. Try taking out the black cartridge and blowing firmly into the small hole at the bottom of the spout that looks to have a sponge inside. Use a straw and make sure your air blown is dry. Then lightly tap the cartridge a few times. Then use the straw and once again blow very firmly inside the receiving path (inside the printer) for the spout on the cartridge. Make sure you are blowing into the spout path at the bottom - not the gear drive path in the middle - as that will not do any good.

Replace the cartridge, warm up and print another black and white page. You should see that the faded out section is gone or diminished in size. If it is not gone, simply repeat the above steps until it is gone. You will see that the faded out strip gets smaller and smaller each time until it's gone. I had to repeat five times, but eventually got it corrected. Now prints like brand new so don't get discouraged.

My lexmark all in one will not power off

Try this: while printer is on, press and hold down power button. Then, unplug power cord. The power button makes sure that all the power is used up. Wait for at least 3 minutes and plug back in.

If this doesn't work, the power button or surrounding may be faulty. Please have a qualified technician look at it.

Lexmark prospect pro 205 not supported by this all in one

Please make sure you are inserting genuine Lexmark cartridges. Lexmark printers work best with original supplies. Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled, re-manufactured or clone cartridges. You might not get the print quality you expect from the ink that is specially formulated by Lexmark.

This has been addressed a lot but my problem isn't solved. I have a brand new Black 32 toner for a Lexmark x7170 all in one printer. It won't accept the toner - gives me the message "left...

It could be a faulty cartridge. Have you already tried inserting a different known working cartridge? If error continues to pop-up even with a different new or a known working cartridge, then it could be a hardware problem. Try to contact Lexmark technical support on the phone for additional assistance.

Pitney bowe 9920, incoming faxes have black vertical columns on each side, with white or normal print in center.

Have you changed the toner cartridge? Often the disposal part of the image unit gets full and leaks out when the cartridge is reaching the end of its toner supply. This will leave black messy streaks on paper, and also make a mess inside the machine. Look inside the machine, if there is a mess, it is the cartridge.

Samsung CLX-3160FN Vertical lines when printing black

This is a very common problem with Samsung CLX-3160 and CLP-300 printers. The real problem is that the developer blades get dirty with the toner. Buying a new imaging unit will only fix the problem for a short period of time then it starts to get buildup on the developer blades.

You need to clean the developer blades. If there are streaking on any color, then also needs to be cleaned.

To clean the developer blades, look to this link. http://losingambition.com/clp300imagefix/ It describes how to clean them. It only takes a few minutes to do once you get the developers out of the unit. Just be careful when you clean the edge of the blades. You need to make sure that the residue is completely removed from the edge. Also be sure that when you reinstall the blade that the little foam does not get trapped below the blade. Otherwise when you print the side where the blade is not properly installed will have too much color.

If you are afraid of messing your printer up, then you need to buy a new imaging unit. They go around $100.

SMUDGE LINES

I'm gonna assume you have a laser printer. You might need a cleaning since some toner might have spilled when you replace your toner. Toner gets into the rollers inside the printer that pulls the paper thru and creates smudgy black lines.

Check out your local business supply store like Staples for Laser Printer Cleaning paper. It doesn't work 100% of the time depend how dirty the inside of the printer is. Maybe a quick fix then buying a new printer. Getting toner mess out is a a messy job.

Lexmark E320 Printing big black smear

1. Make sure that you removed the entire paper jam and that nothing is caught in the fuser assembly (the part that gets hot so make sure it is cooled off first, also do not use anything to dig at anything that might be there try carefully using a tweezer or needle nose pliers to pull it out.
2.Remove the toner cartridge and with a dry cloth or a pencil eraser clean off the contacts on your left when facing the inside of printer and the roller on the bottom can be wiped off to remove excess toner.
3.With toner cart. still out use a dry cloth to wipe the laser print head area located directly above the roller on the bottom of the printer be careful as the metal edges are sharp.
4.If there is a build-up of toner at the entrance of the fuser try gently removing it with a flat blade screwdriver with care.
5.If this doesn't help it may be necessary to replace the toner cartridge itself.

Best Luck

Black streaks on printout page

It sounds like excess toner has built up in or around the imaging drum. I would *carefully* remove the toner and drum (can be messy) and use some canned air to clean the inside out. If you are still getting these streaks, it might be time to get a new drum (DR 400) as you are supposed to replace the drum every 6 to 8 times you change the toner cartridge.
