Good Morning Garthraie, thanks for your post!
I see that the door on your Frigidaire dishwasher appears to be locked and will not close. Could you please advise if the control panel has any lights lit up on it? Also, may I have the model number of your dishwasher? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside left hand wall of your dishwasher. With this additional information I would be able to assist you further. -Matt

SOURCE: Kitchenaid dishwasher door does not stay up in the open position.

On each side of the dishwasher, near the ground, is a nylon cord and pulley apparatus that keeps the door from flopping down when opened. It probably needs some adjustment of the tension on the cord.

SOURCE: Dishwasher latch handle is stuck in closed

I had the same problem and with some pushing and pulling I got the door open again.
TURN OFF THE BREAKER....
Next take all the screws out of the door panel to access the door latch assembly. You will see the handle has plastic tabs that hold it in place which are broken. Order a new assembly and install it.
My problem was getting the wiring harness off of the switches they are clipped on very tightly so I just kept the old ones connected and put them on the new assembly.

Good luck

My dishwasher runs but door is in locked position. it will now run with door open and the door wont close/lock

It sounds like your door latch got tripped into the closed position (even though your door is open). You MIGHT be able to use a screwdriver or some tool to be able to pull the latch lever back out to the open position, but it might also be necessary to take the door apart to get to the latch to be able to reset it. The real problem is that if it happened before, it will probably happen again. So the real solution is to replace the latch assembly.

Favorit 40010 vi dishwasher the machine door opens during the wash except on eco 50 wash

Strange it remains closed on one stage? Usually a door that opens by itself is due to misalignment, and then gain water will leak onto the floor. If someone banged into the side of the door and moved the washer a slight bit, the locking tab under the work counter may not be in a positive position. If the tab is bent slightly up, the door may barely make contact and lock when in operation. A simple movement of the washer could pop the door open. Other than that, any electrical dysfunction would require a professional servicemans attention.

Kitchenaid dishwasher KUDS30IXBL door locked open, will not close

There should be a type of hook inside the hole where the door latches to the machine. Hold the handle up and rotate the hook latch so the open side is pointing towards the machine. The click you heard was the latch that holds the door closed moving to the closed position when the door was open, and it needs to be in the release position.

Hi, we have a Frigidaire FBD1050REM diswasher that the soap door intermittantly won't open, leaving soap all over. Any ideals? Thanks, Christine

I have the same dishwasher and the same problem. What works for me 95% of the time is to push the soap door latch once before I load the soap and close the door. There seams to be two positions on this latch and one opens better. Also, make sure your top rack is pushed all the way to the back before closing the main door.
Personallly, I am looking for a replacement dishwasher!

Dishwasher runs even tho the door is open

The door interlock switch is jammed in the closed position.

There is a metal tab on the inside top of the DW frame that engages a lock just behind the handle on the inside of the unit. The lock tells the machine the door is closed and it is OK to run. If that jams the unit thinks the door is closed.

Open the door.

Look for the latch inside the door behind the handle.

Try to release it with a screwdriver.

If you need to you can remove the handle and repair from inside. It is usually a simple jam that requires you to gently pry the latch open.

REMEMBER TO TURN THE POWER OFF FIRST.

Hope this helps. Please rate this if it helps you.

Thanks,

Adrian

Neff dishwasher door problem.

The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable. If your door is easy to close but difficult to latch, adjust the latch to let the door close more easily. If you can't see any way to adjust the latch, yours may be fixed in a certain position. Check for other reasons for the latching problem.

Soap door latch won't latch close

Make sure the dial that you turn to start the dishwasher is all the way to the beginning. Sometimes my little grandson comes by and plays with it, turning it. I load, add soap and the dispenser won't close. I check the outside dial, and sure enough, set it to the very beginning and the dispenser locks in place!
