Miele Dishwashers - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

I had the same problem a few days ago. I followed the instructions to clean the filter and check to see that the impeller was free to rotate in both directions. The problem persisted. After reading this thread, and a similar one on another site, I tried what mikeboerma suggested in "solution #3", and bingo, problem solved. The magic combination is to push and hold the on/off button and the start/stop button.

First cover the gaps made by the previous owner, this makes the evaporator cold create condensation of the heat in the surroundings of the a / c box and check if the heating tower has its insulation (wadding or foam). Try these tips first, I assume that the dash was removed for any repair or evaporator replacement. Check any discrepancies of the a/c compartments.

Any of these parts websites will help you find your part and ship it to you. I have been happiest overall with the last one:

Sorry not sure what a GFI is.

If the dishwasher has an insulation breakdown power will leak into the ground circuit and trip the RCD or ELCB.

If it is trying to consume too much current due to a short circuit the MCB will trip or the fuse will blow as applicable.

These devices are usually very reliable and if they trip they are doing the job they were designed to do - protect you!

Several questions on FIXYA in the past may be relevant, depending upon what happens before seeing the f51 code:

On Miele F51 is pressure switch error.

The pressure switch is located in the drain system. Its function is determining if there is water inside the tub.

Trip the circuit breaker or disconnect the power cord for a couple of minutes. Inspect the drain system for blockage. The pressure switch can be tested by a technician bypassing it.

To get parts or repair service, call the number listed on the user manual.

F51 fault is more than likely the heater relay is faulty but it could be your circulation pump is jammed up. if you are confident you can easily replace the replace the relay if it is faulty. you would need to put a meter across the terminals. if it is ok then the pump is blocked. if you are not confident you would require a service call. Miele have there own deadicated service team if you live in a metro area

      hope this helps.

Is the water Hot? ( check in mid cycle using the eye glass method)
the 2180 Model is a bit old but I am sure all parts are still available - Rinse aid ( or Rain Ex as we refer to it) to me is the most important
