Reset fuser message on dell 5130

You don't. You can't.

When you install a replacement Transfer belt (it has it's own counter chip) that resets the transfer belt pagecount, and as a result clears any transfer belt life related warnings/errors.

When you install a REPLACEMENT Fuser (that has it's own counter chip) that resets the fuser pagecount, and as a result clears any fuser life related warnings/errors.

PLEASE NOTE - The fuser supplied with the DELL 3130 when new DOES NOPT have a counter chip - the fuser life warnigs are triggered by the printer pagecount. Installing a fuser from another printer (even if it has a ZERO pagecount WILL NOT reset the fuser pagecount (because the 'ship with' fuser has no counter chip.

To reset the life counter:

1. Enter the printer's Tech Mode by quickly pressing the sequence of keys Menu > Up Arrow > Left Arrow > Tick > Right Arrow > Cancel > Menu. If Tech Mode doesn't appear, press the key sequence again as quickly as possible. A delay in pressing the keys will stop the menu from opening.
2. Select Tech Menu > Data Setup > Clear Fuser Count.
3. Restart the printer.

Sounds like a software issue? Uninstall the drivers. And reinstall after restart?

If the NVRAM reset doesn't work contact dell support as they will likely replace the printer if it is still under warranty.

The recommended powersource for the printer is to be plugged in to an independent wall outlet. Thereasoning is that laser printers need a large surge of power to print and surgesuppressors are designed to not let any surges through. While the printer maywork for a while, over the long term it can damage the inner workings of theprinter. Plus, the way the High Voltage and Low Voltage power supplies arebuilt, together they work as a built in surge protector.

Yes you will probably have to replace the fuser. If this is a new printer still under warranty and the page count has not reached the service life of the fuser, contact HP for warranty replacement. Once the new fuser in installed you will need to restore the service count.

Restoring the maintenance count after installing new fuser.

This printer tracks the number of pages printed on the fuser, and a reminder message will appear when the fuser reaches a certain page count. The message will instruct you to replace your fuser. Whenever you install a new fuser, you should reset the fuser page count so the warning message will not appear prematurely.

To reset the fuser count :
1. Press MENU to enter the MENUS.
2. Press Down arrow to highlight Configure Device.
3. Press Checkmark to select Configure Device.
4. Press Down arrow to highlight RESETS.
5. Press Checkmark to select RESETS.
6. Press Down arrow to highlight RESET SUPPLIES.
7. Press Checkmark to select RESET SUPPLIES.
8. Press Down arrow to highlight NEW FUSER KIT.
9. Press Down arrow to select NEW FUSER KIT.
10. Press Down arrow to highlight YES.
11. Press Checkmark to select YES.

The fuser count will be reset and then the printer is ready to use.

The connecter between Fuser and printer is not connected properly. Reset the fuser.
To remove the fuer fuser and measur resistance between the fuser connectors J50132A-2(mainth)and J50132A-1 (gnd) if it is not within the range of 330k ohms TO 50k ohms at (abient temp) Replace the fuser.

For the MFC 8860, I turned off the printer. I help down menu. I turned on the computer. It entered Maintenance mode. I typed in 88 (Parts Replacement.) I scrolled to the fuser, clicked ok. Then, I turned off the printer. When I turned the printer on, it said that I needed to replace my laser. I then turned the printer off, help down menu, turned the printer on, typed in 88 at the maintenance menu (parts replacement), scrolled down to laser, and hit ok. I then turned the printer on and off, and poof, now it works. I find it quite unscrupulous that I had a replace PF Kit1, replace Fuser, and replace laser messages all within one hour...
