MFC-990CW IS IN GERMAN ON MACHINE MENU. WANT TO CHANGE MENU TO ENGLISH
Hello, you can try this simple steps configure your language in any language you want; english, german or japanese or even more! And this is the steps, kindly follow it thoroughly to changed it with ease;
1. Open your phone.
2. Tap Menu.
3. Tap Configure or Settings. (a wrench icon)
4. Tap Phone. (a phone icon)
5. Tap Language Settings.
6. Tap Phone Language.
7. Tap the language you want.

Press menu then arrow-up :
there should be: 0. Inbetriebnahme (or something like that).
Press arrow-up til : Sprache
press set
press arrow-up til: Englisch
press set.
Now you should read in english

Power on your printer. Press the menu of your printer then sect the arrow down or up to select the language menu. press ok if u have seen language then go to option select from german to english.

Go to the Brothers website and download the latest software for your machine. In the process it will ask you what language you prefer, choose English and then your menus from that point on should be in English.

You probably need to clean the print head for the black cause it seams that this particular model has some issues with printing black ..and needs a frequent cleaning of the print head..
after cleaning ..you may try to reset it to the factory settings..(be careful cause this will also reset all other settings like network if you have one..)
On this link you get reset for the network ..but you try to see if it has a general reset ..or find the print-head reset in the menu ..The operation is the same anyway except the feature chosen..
