Noise in the Laser Jet 1022 Printer

The 1018 is not supported by HP with the Mac OS Mountain Lion. I found this on an HP forum and it worked for someone else. You could try this:

Unfortunately, HP laserjet 1018 is not suported in Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. How evere you can use the builtin drivers that goes along with the operating system and select teh driver of another printer and check.
Connect the printer to the computer and then go to System Preferences and click on Print and Fax. In the Print Fax window, lick on the Plus sign and you will find the printer, please select the printer and then under print using click on the drop down and click on "Select print Software" and in the list, please select HP Laserjet 1015 pr HP Laserjet 1022 and check.
If you don't find these printers in the list, please download and install the latest print driver version 2.12 from the apple web site using the link below.

After downloading and install the update, please try the steps given above.

HP LaserJet 1022 is a "host-based" printer so it must be connected to a PC. Load the driver on PC first and connect the USB cable when software tells you to do so.

Will not work on a Linksys print server.

LaserJet 1022N & LaserJet 1022NW have "special" HP print servers that can support HP host based printers.

Jan 2013 Installed this new printer driver and all my HP 1022 problems disappeared; now printing perfectly back as usual!

Unfortunately laser printers don't work this way. The laserjet 1022 was designed for black and white prints only. In order to do color printing with a laser printer you will need to purchase one that is designed to print in color. The laser printers work a bit differently than the inkjets - the laser printers have 4 toner cartridges, one each for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, that work together to print a full color page. With the old inkjets you could just replace a black cartridge with a color one.

So, short answer: Sorry but no you can't make a laserjet 1022 print in color. :)

I would recommend looking at an entry level color laser printer from hp, such as the CP2025 (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF25a/18972-18972-3328060-15077-236268-3673580.html) if you are looking into purchasing a color laserjet.

Hi,
Make sure the cable from your printer is properly connected to the CPU
Make sure it is well recognized.
On start menu, click printer and faxes..
you will see your printer model.(if you said its offline then the image of your printer is blurred...right?)
Now right click on the printer model.. and click the "Use Printer Online"
After that you will see that the image of your printer is clear with the word "ready"
Try to print again.

This is a Black and White only copier. The value will vary depending on what options it has, how many copies are on the machine as well as condition. Is it used as is or is it a refurbished machine? These are questions that affect value but I will give you a ballpark. Figure around $250 for a base machine with no options and as is, as long as it makes good quality copies. All the way up to around $1,000 for a print/fax optioned machine that has been gone through and carries a warranty.

AND IT IS SELECTED AS ONLINE
THE PRINTER IS SET AS DEFAULT PRINTER

You write "type the above line at command prompt". I dont't know Where exactly to write? Can you tell me!

the manual tray is the is the one above the tray,
1-either your tray is set incorrectly must be set to Letter/Plain
priority is tray 2 not tray 1
tray one is the by-pass / manual
since this printer does not have a screen on it everything is setup through the PC.
print a configuration page and you will see all the settings
