American standard kitchen faucet roars when hot water turned on

My american standard kitchen faucet (model ''Williamsburg'' #4771.224) roars loudly when I turn on the hot water side. I have replaced the cartrdige but that did not help. The water pressure was tested and is OK. Could it be the diverter or aerator that is causing the roaring sound?

I turned the shut off valves a little and yes it made the roaring noise go away for about three weeks. Then it started again and turning the valves does not help anymore. What to do now?

Not the aerator at all as this part would act the same if hot or cold.

Have you checked the shut-off valves under the sink? Sometimes just turning them a bit in either direction will solve that problem (will only be the case if it have been shut off at the valve recently).

Also, maybe the supply line on the hot side have been kinked?

Hope this helps

I have very little hot water pressure on my american standard shower faucet. Can I adjust it?

the pressure in pipes has to do with the volume. The bigger the pipe the better the pressure. Take the time to trace out your hot water line and see if you can find any old galvonized pipe, thats usually the problem in most cases. galvonized pipe over time will rust and corrode causing restriction in the water line. replacing it with 1/2" copper should solve the problem.

IF HAVE A AMERICAN STANDARD KITCHEN (6310) . I JUST READ THE PART TAKE FACTCET APART AND TURN ON WATER . I DID THIS AND GET WATER ON COLD SIADE BUT NOT ON HOT. THIS IS WITH CARTRIDGE OUT .DOES THIS TELL...

It says you have a problem with the hot water. First thing to do is to turn the hot water supply valve under the sink off, and then remove the line from the valve to the faucet at the valve. Then put a bucket underneath the valve and turn it on (carefully). If you don't get any flow, then the problem is in the valve or the pipes supplying the faucet. If you get flow there, then the problem is in the supply line or possibly at the faucet.

I had the same problem. You need a "diverter" (044264-0070A). It's available directly from American Standard at no charge. Lifetime guarantee! Phone: 1-800-442-1902.

Apparent flow blockage

I would turn off the water then check to make sure you have good flow up to the faucet itself. If you do then there might be a proplem with the cartridge or diverter. does it have a sprayer? If it has a sprayer head for the spout of the faucet then there will be what the call a check valve inside the spray head itself that canbe removed with a skinny screwdriver or something thin and long

We are getting a metallic taste and smell

The metalic taste is coming from the the new faucet

I would call American Standard and ask them if they have any complaints for this particular model

I would run hot water through the faucet for 5 minute intervals

If it persists I would take it back and demand a refund or cal AS and demand a refund or replacement model

I am sure the local news would like to report something like this

Kitchen Faucet 6310 020 White - HOT WATER SIDE NOT WORKING

The faucet cartridge is more then likely blocked and the faucet will have to be disassembled in order to unblock it.
While it is disassembled you should slowly turn on the water lines to make sure the water ways in the faucet are clear. And thoroughly check the cartridge for damage. Replace if necessary.
Replacement Cartridges can be purchased at most plumbing supply houses or Big Box Stores such as Lowes or the like.

Most likely you need to adjust the hot limit safety stop which restricts handle swing to limit the high temp of the water and avoid scalding... check out this link to the install manual for your faucet. Also includes detailed diagram of cartridge alignment just in case you need it.
