After two day we looked at it again, when we turned it back on it said out of ink. I knew that was no true, because I had just put new ink in it. Now it's back to paper jam. What do I do? Does anyone have any ideas?
A jam has occurred in the registration assembly area. 1. Press the 'down arrow' to see step-by-step information. 2. Open the top cover and remove the print cartridge. 3. Remove all media inside. 4. Lift the metal flap and remove any remaining media. 5. Verify that the media size matches the tray settings and the dial on the tray. 6. Reinstall the print cartridge and close the top cover. 7. To exit, press ? .
The panel on the back of the printer should pop out and you can get to the paper jam throught there. Make sure you get all the peices out cuz sometimes all it takes it one very small piece of paper to make it not work.
Remove the all orange tape from the outside of the printer.
Remove orange tape from paper tray 2.
Remove the orange packing tape from inside paper tray 3.
Remove the spacer from inside the print cartridge area.
Load all paper trays.
Pull the paper trays completely out of the printer.
Press the blue tab on the rear paper length guide and adjust the rear guide so that the pointer matches the size of the paper to be loaded.
Move the side width guides outward to match the desired paper size.
Add the media to the paper trays, make sure that it is flat in the tray at all four corners. Keep the media below the height tabs on the sides and rear of the tray. Push down on the metal lift plate to lock it in place.
Slide the trays back into the printer.
Install the print cartridge.
Remove the print cartridge from the packaging.
Rock the print cartridge back and forth several times to "mix" the toner.
Pull the sealing tape from the end of the print cartridge to remove the entire length of the tape.
Open the top cover.
Slide the print cartridge into the unit.
Close the print cartridge door.
Connect the LAN cable (optional). (HP LaserJet 2420n, 2420dn, 2430tn, and 2430dtn models only)

at the bottom of the page. If
this firmware image is newer
than the one installed on the
printer and the printer can
receive a firmware update,

upgrade. Not all printer
models can receive firmware
upgrades.
4. Try printing a job from a
different software program. If
the job prints, go back to the
first program and try printing a
different file. If the message
appears only with a certain
software program or print job,
contact the software vendor
