Hi Scott, please check the removing the vga cable of monitor and turn its power on and display must show no signal error itself you can see it very clear text on it. if your monitor good check the cable and plug it back to pc.then turn on the pc.if computer starts you can hear the HDD sound and please note the Beep sounds comes up or not ,if continues beep comes up problem can be with your pc memory modules or vga card ,sometimes mother board, clean the ram card using smooth brush and mother board also. unplug the power supply jack and re insert it . remove the vga card also and do the same. first all check the power unit fan is turning on when you press the power button too... please let us know the results or come with more details. regards. nuwan

A sata drive doesn't need jumpers. The jumpers were only required when 2 drives used the same cable.

You may have to reboot a few times to update the bios with the new card. But there is probably an IRQ problem between the 2 cards. To fix this move the sata card over one slot and try booting again maybe 2 or three times.

Buy some arctic silver from radio shack ($10). Remove the heat sink from the CPU. Apply a dime sized drop and spread it with a credit card or saving card. Attach heat sink.

Make sure that you have the correct username at the log in screen. If not choose to log in under another user and select your account. If the account is a life account, you can reset online through Microsoft.

I would suggest grabbing cc cleaner, malwarebytes and advanced system care, they all have free versions and they should root out the problem, make sure to run all from safe mode with all start up options turned off.

The LG's will support an external USB hard drive, but it seems the USB support was intended for thumb drives, so yuo need to do the following to get it working:

1. the drive must be formatted FAT32 (like thumbdrives)
2. keep the file names short
3. keep the directory structure simple and as flat as possible

I have a 60GB laptop drive in a USB 2.0 enclosure drive working really nicely with good transfer rates. It takes it's power from the USB socket and is working fine.
