Dear Sir/ Ma'am,
Please carry out the steps in the following order:
I kindly request that you do a Firmware update from the Kodak website and then proceed with the re-calibration of the unit . The link is as follows:
www.kodak.com/go/drivers
Installation Instructions:
This firmware version improves the following:
a.. Error recovery
b.. Scanner performance
c.. Calibration for media detection
CAUTION: Turning your printer on or off during this procedure will render your printer inoperable. Wait for "Upgrade is complete. You may now use your printer." to appear on the computer screen.
1. Download the firmware file to your desktop.
2. Verify that your printer is:
a. Connected to your computer and turned on.
b. In the Ready state.
3. Double-click the *.exe file on your desktop, then follow the on-screen instructions.
4. Wait for "Upgrade is complete. You may now use your printer." to appear on the computer screen. This may take several minutes and the printer will turn off and on during the process.
It will require you to also recalibrate a media sensor in the printer after you perform the firmware update. To recalibrate the media sensor, you will need to do the following:
a) Load ONLY ONE sheet of Kodak Bright White Inkjet Paper, if not available please use another high quality inkjet paper. (A4)
b) Press the COPY & CANCEL buttons on the printer simultaneously.
c) The printer will feed the single sheet of paper through the printer.
d) The Media Sensor will be re-calibrated, however it will not give any indication that it was. There will be no message saying that it was successful.
-> Remove the ink cartridges
-> Remove the Printhead (Upon removing the cartridges look into the slot where the black cartridge fitted into. On the vertical wall at the back you will see two small contact points. Place your finger above those points on the black plastic and run your finger towards the top of the printhead. You will feel a little button and by pressing it, it will release the Printhead. When inserting it ensure that you hear it click into place)
-> Thereafter you can Deep Clean the Printhead. Open Kodak Homecentre, click on the "?" on the top right corner, choose "Maintenence" and "Clean Printhead"
-> Open Kodak Homecentre, Click on the "?" on the top right corner, choose "Maintenance" and "Calibration".
-> Please now choose the option to print a "Demosheet" in the "Maintenance" section of the Kodak Homecentre Software.
If this does not resolve your issue please advise us on the print quality of the Demosheet.
