Have a Kodak all in one 5500...black cartridge

I think the printhead is already defective since you tried using a non kodak ink the big difference is the viscosity of a non kodak ink is diff. w/ the original giving more load to the printhead and making it defective.

I would just like to buy a print head for my 5500

Havent found anywhere that you can buy one, but the step process only takes about 5 minutes and then you can order at no cost to you on the KODAK website. Guess they are proprietary as I cant even find one on Ebay or Amazon. Bottom line; for 5 minutes of stepping through you get a new print head in 3 to 5 business days.

Kodak 5500 print faded colors

You need a new printer head. I had the same problem and so did my mom. Here is the good news, it wont cost you anything. Just go to the KODAK web site, you can get to it by Googling Kodak all in one tech support and walk through the step by step. Sounds like you have done most of what they will walk you through already. At the end (takes about 5 minutes) the web site will tell you you need a new print head. They then will let you order it right online at no cost to you. Delivery is about 3 to 5 business days. Good luck.

Make sure that the settings is properly set especially for the region settings. If problem persist please upgrade the firmware of your pinter.

5500 Kodak printer

You need to clean the printhead to resolve this issue.
Pls. follow the instructions below:
1) power on the printer

2) press"menu" on the printer

3) scroll down to "clean printhead"

4) select "deep clean"

Perform deep cleaning 3x then try printing a demo sheet to check if the issue has been resolved.

After downloading an update from kodak my control

You need to preform clean install.Pls. follow the steps bellow:

1) go to ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS from your control panel then make sure the easyshare software has been removed

2) run the clear utility at www.kodak.com/go/clear

3) reinstall the software again at www.kodak.com/go/downloads

Can not install printer software. Goes through

You need to remove the software completely to avaoid getting conflicts when installing back the software
Follow the basic steps

1) enable show hidden files and folder

2) delete C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kodak

3) delete C:\Program Files\Kodak

4) run clear again at www.kodak.com/go/clear

5) reinstall the software at www.kodak.com/go/downloads

Error message: Printhead missing, not installed correctly or has come loose

In regards to the error message with the printhead missing or come loose......I had that issue just shortly after I installed my printer. I was going crazy trying to fix it taking it out and reinstalling which was a pain, removing the cartridges and then the printhead to no avail. Finally I got smart and disconnected the power cord from the printer itself, not directly from the outlet. Once I did that and turned the printer back on the error was gone. It might have been a fluke, but it worked for me, so you might want to try it.

Will not scan kodak easyshare 5100

For WINDOWS VISTA/XP Operating Systems:
  1. Go to:
    • C:>Windows>twain_32>Kodak>Kds_aio5000
    • C:>Windows>twain_32>Kodak>Kds_aioesp

  2. Confirm the folders Kds_aio5000 and Kds_aioesp are available in C:>Windows/twain_32/Kodak.

    NOTE: If these folders are missing, the following error codes will be generated:
    • 1-2036 when scanning
    • 1-2037 when printing
If the error condition continues:
  1. Right-click the KODAK AiO Home Center icon.
  2. Click Properties, then select the Compatibility tab.
  3. Clear all checked boxes.
  4. Click Apply, then OK.
  5. Scan a document from the Home Center.

Very light black and white copies. installed new

printhead is probably dirty or going bad try removing it and letting it sit in a dish w/ rubbing alcohol it may help may not. if its a kodak it wont trash it u need a new one
