I just purchased this kodak 52300 printer and I have no instruction manual
for it and I do not know how to operate - I can't print an envelope because of;no instructions I do not know how to scan and copy a picture, etc.etc.
Is there a manual available with instructions on how to use the printer?
my inks are both full but it will not print out black and the color is faded

it will copy/print but if i put in a pic and hit scan then start. the on/off light flashes then it quits 1 min ltr with no pic scaned
Similar scan problem as 5100 and 5300 models. Error Code 1 -2036 Scan could not be completed. This occured after I had been scanning, & then Vista crashed (BS of D) & when it restarted nothing but errors. Shut down unit restarted, no change, rebooted no change,
Go to Control Panel
Double Click on Printers and Other Hardware
Double Click on Scanners and Cameras
Double Click on Kodak 5100 AiO
Click Next
Read and follow directions
It ain't rocket science

Will not print anything black
Go here:
http://www.kodak.com/go/aiotroubleshooting
Within the tool, select Print quality, then No black, missing text, or text quality.
After answering all the questions (assuming you haven't abused your printhead) you will be prompted to enter a service number, name, and address to be mailed a replacement printhead.
I just went through this and was told my printhead would arrive in 2 to 5 business days.

On my 5300 kodak when I try to print on glossy paper the black ink won't print. This only happens with the 81/2x11 glossy. The 4x6 glossy prints fine, as does the 81/2x11 regular paper. Even the windows test page is ok. Ive deep cleaned the print heads and fooled around withe the print quality setting but the problem persists. Ive tired both kodak and 2 other brands of glossy paper. Any ideas ? I'm out of them (ideas, that is ).
It is the print head. Cleaning the heads does not do any good, either does replacing the ink. What you'll need to do is contact Kodak's customer service line and they can replace it for you free of charge. On this site everyone seems to be saying it is consistently the black that stops, however, based on what Kodak said it is possible that either the black or the color can have this same issue.
When you call in they will ask you for your service number, which is located on the bottom left corner of the machine, when you lift the lid (as if you were going to replace the ink). They didn't ask me when I bought it, how much I used it, etc.
They will set up a case for you - it takes 2-3 business days for the print head to arrive. They will provide you with an invoice number as well. Be sure to document it all just incase the head never comes, or if there are additional issues after you receive it (and/or if it doesn't solve the problem)

I had a tecnician install everything yesterday, but I keep getting the above error message: Printhead missing, notinstalled correctly or has come loose. Install printhead and ink cartridges. If already installed, remove ink cartridges and printhead, then reinstall. See User's Guide.
We followed above directions over and over again. He went home. The printer is still showing the above message. I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks,

In regards to the error message with the printhead missing or come loose......I had that issue just shortly after I installed my printer. I was going crazy trying to fix it taking it out and reinstalling which was a pain, removing the cartridges and then the printhead to no avail. Finally I got smart and disconnected the power cord from the printer itself, not directly from the outlet. Once I did that and turned the printer back on the error was gone. It might have been a fluke, but it worked for me, so you might want to try it.

printer prints blank pages from all sources including internet
When you print from an internet site page and the Kodak box come up on your screen showing that it's printing, do not close this box until you've finished printing or it will print a blank page.

I have bought two of these ESP-3 printers in the last year with the same result! Neither of them ever get thru the first stages of set-up per their instructions. First printer returned for refund after two weeks of working with it. Bought second one a week ago along with new computer, same result. Steps state to remove all the tape inside the machine, install the printhead, install both ink cartridges, power up and let it go thru all it's monkey motion then wait for the "no paper light to flash"! This never happens. I get a "C" flashing in the LCD display which is supposed to indicate that it needs calibration. I then insert paper into the printer as stated, press the "copy/resume" button and it is supposed to print out a calibration sheet, ie, waste ink! It goes thru all the motions of printing but spits out blank sheet of paper. I have given up on Kodak tech help from El Salvador or wherever it is. I find it hard to believe that I have received two bad printers in a row, something else is wrong and it is in the instructions on the sequence of operations I think? I had to click on the Easy Share 5500 printer to get this message sent. My printer is the ESP-3! Please help!!! Regards, Dennis.
I have severe and often different problems with my Kodak ESP-3 printer. Sometime it`s banding of the colors, then I`ll align the printhead and I`ll have a color problem or no color at all. I just talked to Kodak Customer Service by phone, 11 a.m. PST. After a few automated questions I had a live operator in less than 3 minutes. The service tech went thru some diagnostic steps with me and the printer and after about the 5th step determined I had a faulty printer head. If the green on/off light keeps blinking when it shouldn`t be, that is a sure sigh of faulty printer head, it means the printer is not recognizing the head. Kodak seems to be very aware of this problem and are sending me a new printer head UPS, free of charge. After reading some previous reviews I`m suprised how good the customer service was. Maybe I just called at the right time and got lucky.

I believe the printhead is faulty. this is the second time that I'm getting the prinhead replaced in 1 year. In the second go round even the technician couldn't remove it. He asked fthat instructions be included with the replaced printhead. All I got was a website address. Help!
Above the thumb print in the printhead there is a button. Press button and printhead releases.

I got a printer for Christmas from my kids... started it twice in order to set it up, worked fine, as far as I could tell, but since then, I can't even get it to turn on. The problem is, I don't even know where to take it to have it repaired. I live in NE Ohio.
