How can i reset the whole computer to factory setting an still have operating system got computer used an it is really slow an has no antivirvis is there a good free one

You can try rolling back the computer to last known good configuration. Repeatenly press F8 on startup, before the machine starts windows. Choose 'last known good configuration' from options screen. You can also try using a registry cleaner http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html to optimise your system. For antivirus, google: AVG free or microsoft security essentials. To return the system to factory defaults, you will need a windows installation disc, to format the hard drive and install a new copy of windows. You can download an image to burn to CD here: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ You will also need the certificate of authenticity number, which should be on the bottom of the machine. Make sure you can read this before starting a fresh install.

Some key doesn't work

go to dell care, they will change the keyboard.i think now your laptop is not within the warranty period because it is a 2006 model.so you need to pay for your work to dell care.if you want to dispose off then dont do it with dell care for which you dont get any money.its better get it repaired from someone and sell it out.Else there is another way too,buy an external keyboard!

Had a sudden powercut, after which my Dell Latitude d620 began stuttering. I mean the computer slightly pauses about every 2.5 seconds. What is causing this?

Remove the main battery and unplug the charger from the computer for about thirty minutes to get rid of any residual charge and unplug charger from receptical. The laptop has taken a spike which can scamble the main processor causing all kinds of symptoms. If there is no change, the charger should be checked or subbed for another, if it goes deeper it will involve motherboard issues.

I press the power button, and only flashes twice, nothing in the laptop turned on or starts

Try with the AC adaptor connected and plugged in. It may be a faulty battery or something more serious. Make sure the power light comes on when the charger is plugged in and switched on. In the evenit is still the same let me know.

On my DellD620 I get

To help identify the problem you could try using an external monitor (these just plug into the side [blue plug]) If you still get the same problem on an external screen ,you have a problem with your graphics. You may be able to aleviate this by adding more RAM.

My dell latitude D620 laptop takes too long

Try turning off MSN messenger before you worry too much. Then try a registery and history cleaner such as "CCCleaner" I use this one all the time, it is free and as close to fool proof as I have found. Good luck.

I have a dell latitude d620 laptop and the problem

It would seem from the information supplied that you have either, a Virus which may need the HDD removed for a check, or a hardware problem which I would be unable to diagnose online. If you are able, you should run a virus/malware scan at the earliest opportunity. If it runs for long enough to do a scan you may be lucky. It may be that the laptop has just become full of dust and rubbish.

RE: 3G wireless broadband. my computer runs slow when i download videos. could my 3G stick beweak or is it my server which is Mobi PCS be at fault?

3G is not a very fast way to watch video. The bandwidth is not wide enough. The standard bandwidth for 802.1 g is 54mbps the usually obtained bandwidth is in the region of 1mbps. This speed is good enough for a small screen resolution video. But for a larger screen resolution it is no way near fast enough. It is not your stick or your computer. it is just that you are using the wrong data transfer system for the job.

Dell Latitude D620 - Screen shows boot up, but then goes blank

Here are some easy things that can sometimes resolve this problem:
1) Sometimes there can be a static buildup on the mother board. Power off, remove the battery, remove the power cord and hold the power button in the on position for at least 30 seconds.
2) If that didn't work- Power down, remove the battery, remove the Hard Drive and memory modules and reinsert them. Try to power back up
If these things don't work, get back to me for some more ideas.
Hope this helps and have a super day!

How can i unlock dell latitude d420 bios password

Clearing the CMOS will reset the password...
Take the button cell battery out for a few minutes, put it back in, and all settings, including the password, should go back to defaults.
Unfortunately it looks like your BIOS battery is under the keyboard...
Dell has got what looks like decent directions here, for getting at it:

Go into a command-session (or DOS-box) in any OS you like.Go to the directory with the LATITUDE.EXE program in it (size is only 5,467).Type in latitude 12345 and hit enter. You have to substitute 12345 with your 5-character service tag number. The program then gives you the password.

Pc wont let me download any antiviruses, been to

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on ANOTHER computer. Suggest use the free version. It's all you need,http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html(Click on Download Now in the small green rectangle, to the top left side )Once downloaded to the alternate computer, burn it to a CD disk.Turn your laptop on, and open the DVD drive tray. Install the Malwarebytes CD disk, close the tray. When Malwarebytes is loaded, install it. Then run Malwarebytes. You may see pop-up, after pop-up, as Malwarebytes is running. So many in fact, that you may not see the Malwarebytes screen, and wonder if it is running.IT IS. Takes usually around 8 minutes to complete. The pop-ups may have what looks to be genuine Microsoft icons. (Shield)Some are real, some are not.Click on the real ones? Why? Microsoft hasn't done you any good in this matter so far.It doesn't work, and you are just slowing down Malwarebytes. Do Not touch anything until Malwarebytes is done.Once done you will have your Administrator privileges back again. You can access Control Panel, Task Manager, System Restore, etc.Suggest you go to System Restore, and TURN IT OFF, temporarily.System Restore restores the laptops files, AND the 'virus'.Click on Start > Hover your mouse cursor on All Programs > Go up to Accessories, over and down to System Tools, and over and down to System Restore. (Windows XP)Click on System Restore. When System Restore has loaded, click on - System Restore Settings - on the left side of the screen.Click IN the empty box to the left of - Turn off System Restore on all drivesNow go below to the right, and click on Apply.Go below to the left, and click on OK.Run Malwarebytes one more time. When finished go back to System Restore > System Restore Settings > and click in the box once more. Empty square box.Click on Apply, and OK once more. Also suggest you go back to the main System Restore page, and click on the circle to the left of -Create a restore point. Then click on Next at the bottom. You will have a system restore point that you Know is good.(Be aware that after time the restore point is gone. Windows updates the restore point. You may want to go into system restore once in a while, and ensure you have a vaild good restore point)The 'Virus' you picked up is no virus at all. It's a sham.It is a 'Scareware Malware'.Pretends to be genuine, but is a hoax. Purchasing it does nothing. It does not remove itself. It is a new version of an old piece of cr@p, MS Antivirus,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_AntivirusFor additional questions please post in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette
