you either do not have a harddrive connected to the computer or the harddrive you have in your computer went bad
replace your harddrive and reload the operating system

1. Check and see if the LED is on with the AC adapter, if possible, try a different Dell AC adapter (ANy D or E series Dell with a cannon plug connection should run that system Also ensure that the adapter is plugged into the wall.

Depends on the model. You can call Dell support regarding this, just tell them your service tag number that you can see under your laptop. If not, there should be a lot of SD card adapters to connect to your laptop.

There are two common causes for this and both relate to the power supply.

First is that the connector on the main board is loose or has a bad connection

It could also be a dying power supply which is the second most common cause.

Replacements are easy to obtain and cost between $20 to $60.
If it is the PSU either get an original replacement (EBAY is best bet) or get one of the many multi laptop PSU's available but if you get the latter please make sure it carries enough or preferably MORE amperage than you need.

The old supply will have the details of both the voltage and current on it and you need to match the voltage exactly and keep the same or better current rating eg 1000 Mw or 1A or whatever it says.

There are a few likely causes with audio problems. Either you need to reinstall the audio drivers, you need to reinstall your OS, or your sound card just died.

2) If the sound isn't working from the driver, then you will want to try to reinstall Windows. Note that doing this will delete all of your data currently on the laptop. To reinstall, find the Windows disk that came with it and run it, follow the instructions. After you reinstall Windows, reinstall the drivers from your drivers/utilities CD that came with your laptop also.

3) If sound still isn't working, then your sound card/chipset has just died. Since it's a laptop, there's really no fix for this, however you still should be able to hear using headphones.

the d620 should really accept any internal drive you can physically fit inside, the only issue might be the bios but anyrecent machine should be ok. No, the d510 does not appear to support sata drives. Just take the old one out to check, if it has a load of pins on it then definitely no. (sometimes dell use their own single finger adapter on the pins - sata drives have two fingers)

theres a start up driver missing you will need your back up disc on this one.or theres a problem with your battery it not takeing charge.

It could be any of a hundred things. Your BIOS performs many tests as you turn on the system, if some of those tests fail it will halt the system. However try this...unplug the power, take the battery out and hold down the power button for around 60seconds. This will release any excess charge built up in the machine. Put the power back in and turn on. That's it. You can also then replace the battery.Now there will always be various reasons for your screen to fail etc but most will not allow your laptop boot with all lights on and if you hear little 'plink' noises which suggest the laptop has fully booted.
