Please, how does your Win 7 x64 machine compare to anything else on your network? Can any other computer see that printer at all? When you install the printer locally does that mean by USB, or what please?

On this page, please select your OS and click next. Now, there will be option called "Driver - Product installation software" section, expand and select appropriate version you need to install and you will be taken to download page. Before installing, just remove previous software, if installed (recommended).

Why would you want to bypass the alignment phase? That is the time that the printer sets it's registration. You would most likely suffer a poorer print image if you were to bypass, I recommend you perform that step.

For poor printing problems I suggest you run the Tap 10 diagnostic print test (see link to video below). If the new (or refilled/reman/compatible) HP 56, 57 or 58 ink cartridge refuses to print black/color and/or function at all (i.e. blinking ink light on Deskjet 5000 series printer) or fails to complete the printer alignment following cartridge installation, then the ink cartridge either has a connectivity issue with the flexible printed circuit cable (inside unit where cartridge mates with cable), the rear cartridge contacts or cable contacts are dirty with ink residue, or the cartridge is suffering from marginal internal electrical performance. It is suggested you perform the TAP 43 (and TAP 10) DIAGNOSTIC PRINTER TEST to evaluate the ink cartridges electrical performance. I didn't get your question,even I am trying to give you solution. Switch on the printer, left top cover wait until carriage arrive at middle, remove mono cartridge, take out swab nozzle area with good cotton or ear buds adding with alcohol(solvent) gently in one direction,repeat three to four times & shake well and see ink coming out from nozzle area?, clean nozzle area with tissue paper put it back & check for print..

install the printer dirver (cd driver) on your note bookset it as defult printer in (start menu >printer and faxes > right clik on printer> choose set defult)

click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you might see a yellow? ! question exclamation mark or a red X this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update driver,disable,uninstall or select properties again you will have the similiar options also you can troubleshoot the device and if you dont have the driversHP PRINTER DRIVER PACKAGES

Hello, you should have installed some printer software for your deskjet. You will find the maintenance button there once you have opened up that software. Regards,nicam49

If the old cartridge also give that alarm so ignore it and keep working..it's a sensor malfunction
but if the old one is not giving that alarm, i think its compatibility problem or the new cartridge is not original.

There are very few things you can do, other than what you have aleady done.
I would recommend a decision on how much the unit cost and how long you have used the
printer vrs. what HP or a local authorized service center would charge to repair it.
If you have refilled ink cartridges, this is problem that can arise due to ink drying on the
print head as the black cartridge is use the most.
