Tv turns on then off after a few seconds.

Try this and let me know what you find:

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD “device” and “menu” buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC’s is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and two blinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

if this has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

After a power outage the

i have encounter many of these issues with TVs going bad after a power outage which i something that can be complex. Actually almost all the TVs go through this issue sometimes in their life time. What happens is that TVs have a circuit that controls the on/off phase; the circuit has resistors, diodes and capacitors to do the job. When there is a power surge, which is what happens when the power come back on, a diode, resistor or capacitor goes bad. Capacitors are the main ones that fail under a power surge/outage because they have a set of value assigned to them. The worst that can happens also is that a power transistor can go bad. The unit controls or regulate the power going in to the set. So, if your TV does not turn on, turns but goes dean right after, or has the standby light flickering; you would need to have it check by a technician. On the other hand, you might want to check if its not just a reprogramming that the set needs.

Power button bilinking

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://homenol.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, [Exclude the model number] in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

WS-55511 55in volume turns up by itself & can't switch devices

The remote is not the problem. The switch for volume up on the control panel has become leaky. Very common problem for this generation Mitsubishi. If you don't mind not having the control panel working you can disconnect it and the set will work just fine with the remote. To disconnect the control panel pull the speaker grill, it just snaps off, and remove the front access panel. Once that is done you'll see a cable going to the switches just disconnect it.

I have a WS-55511 projection

2,2 is short protection and 98% chance one of the two pico fuses that protect the convergence circuit are blown.

Set uses a single convergence IC (STK 393-110) WHICH is about 14 dollars on EBAY.

I have photos of fuses, IC, and start to finish, step by step instruction for this repair.

Let me know, I would start by locating the two fuses and test them; I attach photo and they are on middle board.

How do i get the

Bypassing the V-Chip Lock
After you set the lock, you need your passcode to view a V-Chip locked program, view the locked TV, cancel the lock, or enter the V-Chip lock menus.
If you forget your passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your passcode. When your password is requested, press the number 9 and QV buttons on the remote TV control at the same time. This process temporarily unlocks the TV.
When entering the V-Chip Lock menu, this process deletes your old passcode and prompts you to enter a new passcode

hope this helps
