What is the system restore and how can i replace it

system restore is usually a software function (although some devices have the ability to do a system restore from a button somewhere on the device - check / download your user manual for specific details. As for replacing system restore, in short, you cannot. System restore takes an item back to factory state and even if you could you would not want to replace this.

My Mitsubishi ws-55511 does not turn on. I push

1.) 2-2 is short protection and usually means one of the two fuses that protect the convergence IC are bad.

2.) This model uses a Single convergence IC--A STK-393-110 THAT can be purchased for about 14 dollars plus shipping on ebay.

3.) If one of the fuses that protect it is blown the set detects no voltage present and shuts down instantly.

4.) I have photos of what the fuses that need to be checked look like; also there are several protect resistors around the chip that need to be looked at also--I have photos of them also.

5.) I also have step by step start to finish instructions for this repair for this model--It tells you how to do the repair and everything you will need to do it.

6.) If you want the photos and instructions give me a vote here and I will email them to you free.

7.) I do this here for free so if this has been helpful take a minute and give me a vote here.

HAVE MITSUBISHI MODEL WS 55511 WELL NOT POWER UP?

Hi,

If this is a case of the little green light blinking on the front, nonstop, then let me know and I will tell you how to fix that problem, but this sounds like a different issue due to you not mentioning the "little green light"

This is a fix you should be able to do yourself, if you have any sort of electronice and soldering experience. (or if you have someone in the family that does)

It sounds like your TV has stopped working due to your Convergence circuit having issues.

These IC's operate at a very high temp, and usually only last 4-5 years.

If you remove the back of the set, you will want to look for the BIGGEST heatsink in there, on that heatsink, you will see 2 lage IC's , probably STK392-110, or STK392-120's or something close...regardless - you can go on ebay to order the new ones, but MAKE SURE they are Genuine SANYO IC's and not counterfiet cheapies. the cheap ones may last 2 minutes, or 2 months..

You will also need some "Heat transfer paste" - you can pick this up at radio shack.

Once you remove the old IC's, test all the large resistors near them.. pull one side of the resistor out of the board so you can check it out of circuit. they will usually have the value in Ohms, printed directly on the resistor, but you may have to use the resistor color code to find out what value they are....However, usually if there is any damage, the resistor will look like it has been HOT or fried. replace the IC's and any bad resistors, and you should be good to go. If you need to order a resistor or two,

http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/index.php/cName/convergence-resistors

If after replacing the IC's and any defective resistors, the convergence is still bad, make sure to use a multimeter to check ALL fuses on the boards,(including the small, surface mounted PICO fuses) --- sometimes when the IC's go, they will take out a fuse to the convergence power supply. If you find any bad fuses, replace them accordingly!

If this STILL doesnt make it look right, you will need to find out how to get into service mode and do a coarse convergence adjustment. This information can be found in the Service manual for your set. If you dont have one you can download it at manualuniverse.com

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD “device” and “menu” buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC’s is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

Won't power on

Check the Mitsubishi TV error codes using the instructions on www.TvRepairKits.com . Look on the tips page. If its a steady blink its likely the blinking light of death issue. If its a 2-2 pattern its likely a convergenec failure. Both are failry easy DIY tv fixes.
