Computer was checking files and it got unplugged

I solved this problem the next day by plugging it into a windows 95 computer which recognized it when my toshiba didnt. It was frozen on the checking files and I was able to manually end it. There must be something in a 95 that isnt in a 200 model.

It will only play ten seconds of a song. why is

I've noticed alot of people are having this problem. For some reason or another the MP3 player puts intself into INTRO MODE. The player will play ten seconds of a song then move onto the next.
To fix this:
1. Play a Song
2. Press the button on the side of the player
3. Choose PLAY MODE
4. Choose NORMAL

I had this problem when I first got mine as well and I understand how frustrating it can be when you've spent hard earned money on something and things go wrong right off the bat. When it happened to me I wished there was someone out there with a clear answer as to how I could fix it. I hope I've been able to help you with your specific problem.

HOW DO I CONVERT PICS SO THEY WILL GO ON THE GPX

If you have the Paint program, open up your image in there and go to SAVE AS, right under where you would name the file, there should be another bar. This is the file TYPE. You should be able to click on that bar and select either .jpg or .gif

Pictures
Plug in your MP3 Player. Open MY COMPUTER, your MP3 player will show up in the scroll on the left side of the screen. Go into your documents to select an image and simply drag and drop on top of the folder called ALBUMS under the GPX. This will put images into an album on the player.

To See the images once on your MP3 player ,
1. Turn on the MP3
2. Hold MODE BUTTON
3. press up or down until you select PICTURE
Your images will appear as a list.

I find that .gif images and .jpg images work the best.

Looking for drivers for gpx ml648s where do i find

I have not been able to locate drivers for this device either. All I can suggest is a manual reset. there is a small hole in the back of the mp3 player. Stick a pen into the hole and reset the device. This worked for me, but may not work for everyone. Sorry I can't be of more help.

My computer doesn't recognize my gpx ml648 mp3

I am going to type up what the owners manual says for this:
1. Try running Windows Update to see if there are any Service Packs they have available. You can do this by going to www.windowsupdate.com

2. Scan for hardware changes. To do so, open Device Manager. This can be found by right clicking on My Computer. Choose Properties from the menu that appears, In this System Properties menu, click on the Hardware tab. From the Hardware tab, click on Device Manager. Within Device Manager, there should be a listing for Portable Devices. If there isn't a listing for Portable Devices or the listing shown is highlighted with a question mark, right click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers and select Scan for hardware changes.
3. If no devices connected to a USB port can be recognized, try connecting the mp3 player to a different USB port.

Also, if you are using a USB extention cord - stop. make sure the cord from your player is directly connected to your computer.

Need a driver for my gpx ml648b mp3 player

This happened to me a while back and I could not for the life of me find a driver to download. The only thing I can reccamend is what I did.
Flip the player to it's backside. There is a small hole with the word RESET beneath it. Take a pen tip and hold down that button. It should reset your device entirely making it as though it were new.
