Heater forvice maker shouldn’t be warm until Ice is frozen and ready to dump. Ice maker is likely bad.

Heater and bi-metal defrost thermostat can be tested for continuity with an ohm meter. If both of them are good, then board is bad.

The compressor may be running, but if there's been a refrigerant leak, it will be running very hot. If it's run like that for more than the very shortest instant, the compressor will be burned out and will need replacement... note that repairing the leak and the system being flushed is vital when the compressor is replaced. The good news is that it's a warranty repair. The bad news is you need to have a warranty - if it's very old, the callout charge, parts and labor may be more than it's worth in which case put the money towards a replacement.

Only thing you can try that is simple is to disconnect it from the power and wait a couple of minutes, then connect it back If it is wired direct then you need to shut off the breaker

Remove service panel & check operation of compressor. If compressor is running, check condenser fan motor(should be running with compressor). If components are running, a certified refrigerator tech must check refrigerant.

Is there a wire/bar that goes across the ice bucket? As ice fills the bar raises up and eventually goes high enough to shut the maker off until the level goes down. You can manually lift the bar up to ~ horizontal until it clicks in place and stays there. That should shut it off until you move it back down. If there is no bar, then I guess there in no way your ice maker knows when it is full and keeps producing. Perhaps the bar was removed, bent or broken off. At least tht is one type of ice maker I'm familiar with. Other types my have different ways to tell the maker it's full.

if everything is fine, then what is the question ? if it isn't cooling, get a trained refrigeration technician to look into fixing it. refrigeration equipment takes specialized equipment and training well beyond the average homeowner tools or skillset.
