If it feels like a fuel problem commonly causes the vehicle to surge at a constant speed on hyway use fuel line antifreeze in tank and make sure you replace fuel filter aswell try that first

I have a 1997 SAAB 2.0 Turbo and it has started to run rough after it warms up and when driving it loses power and runs very rough until power taken off. Any ideas?

suspect low fuel pressure to the injectors
run the fault codes to determine where the fault may be before you spend money

I added fuel additive to my fuel had timing chain done 2 days ago now It won't idle it dies and runs real rough at high RPM's. If you put it into drive gear kills motor.

Sounds like a spark plug or wire issue. Anytime the vehicle starts to skip, die, or (run rough) its usually these minor things. However if that does not help, start looking into your fuel system. Always try cheapest first. Plugs and Wires....Good luck...

Running rough

Did you check the timing? And how about timing advance?Water in tank from bad fuel? - happens all of a sudden - I think it is that based on description of what happened.

I have a 95 Ford F350 with the 460 motor. It started running fine when cold but after it warms up it starts to run rough, lose power, and runs REAL rich. I'm only getting a little more than 2mpg.

It Sounds like it is staying in the "cold start" routine. It also sounds like the diagnostic computer is not working right, because it must be rich and the O2 is not telling you a thing.

I would start by looking for a temperature sensor. You may have 2, with 1 being for the dash and the other being for the engine controls. You want to replace the temperature sensor for the Engine controls. This will help get it out of "cold start" routine.

Change your thermostat. The onboard computer does not monitor operating temperature.

Fuel pressure regulator. Have pressure checked.It could be forcing too much gas in each time an injector opens.

If you can not do this yourself, tow it in. At 2 mpg it may be cheaper to tow it than to drive any distance for repair. The Mechanics are going to need some gas left over in it to work on the engine.

Also turn on ignition and energize the fuel pressure, check for leaking fuel lines. Put on fuelcap locks if fuel drops when parked.

For this much of an extreme problem, I would like to know what you find wrong with it. I hope my solutions help.

91 Explorer 6cyl XLT standard is super hard to start, the engine sounds muffled when starting and while running, quickly overheated once it was running, looses power when pressing accelerator.

Could be a clogged catalytic converter. It could also be a bad head gasket allowing some coolant to enter the cylinders. Check for milky grey oil.

LET IT RUN/OR DRIVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK. THE ENGINE COMPUTER MAY HAVE TO RELEARN HOW TO RUN AFTER THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED. I HOPE THIS WORKS . THANKS MOTOR62500..

1995 GMC Safari Loses Power when accelerating hard, rough idle

Do you have a check engine light on? Is this a 4.3 with central port injection? If it's running real rich it might have a fuel leak inside the intake, either a fuel pressure regulator leaking or a feed line to the injector.

I have a Ford F250 Extended cab that started running rough and losing power this morning got Codes P0301 P0303 P1151 and P0171 What should i Do?

P0301 = Misfire cylinder #1P0303 = Misfire cylinder #2
P0171 = System too lean cylinder #1
Are you sure on the P1151 code? I am thinking this may be a P0151 which is O2 sensor related.
This looks like you have a fuel system related misfire. I would do a fuel injection cleaning service and then clear codes and see if the codes regenerate.

At times car can not run over 53mph.

u need a special test gauge, it hooks to a test port on the supply pipe to the engine fuel injectors's, looks like a metal tire valve, u may be able to borrow this fuel pressure test guage from Kragen or Autozone, call them and check.
