Your best bet is to let the back seats down and crawl into the trunk. You can then remove the screw tabs holding the vinyl panel covering the hatch. After removing the hatch covering use a flashlight to see the linkage for the lock. Now you can open the hatch easily by just pressing the spring loaded portion on the lock mechanism.Voila.

Radio wont show display...yet radio works...a/c isnt blowing cold air....freon is full..and in the same area button to release rear hatch isnt opening it...nor is the key !!!

Radio is an internal problem. A/C, have your mechanic friend check the high and low pressures, along with the outside temperature when he checked it. Repost, I'll tell you what's wrong. And the hatch, there is a rod that unlocks it, it has came loose in the hatch. You have to climb in back and pop off the top bezel for the hatch. Then remove the screws on each side of the bottom bezel. Start popping it out, enough to reach down and open the hatch. After it is open, remove the screws at the handle on the bottom and finish popping it off. Replace the plastic tab that has broken for the rod. I suggest replacing all of them.

Can i unplug the anti theft system in my 1992 saab and my car still start and run?

No you can't. You can bypass a key or module, But the ECM still needs a signal to start and run the car.

The rear hatch on my 2003 Ford Focus wagon won't release from either the dash release or the remote on the key fob. Still opens with the key. The rear wiper stopped working at the same time. Also, light on...

Before doing any other troubleshooting on a 2003 Ford Focus hatch release problem, try THIS... The hatch release button is a triangle. Push the button on the very bottom point of the triangle. For some reason, mine did not work when pushed in the middle and only works when I push it at the very bottom point... slightly off in any direction and it does not work. Strange but true.

If the fuse is okay, check to see that the latch is not bound in some way, and that it is properly lubricated. A dry latch sometimes will not release.

Saab 1998 wont start

Since you changed the battery .. the key needs to re-sync with the system.
According to some web searches the following may work:
  • Put the key in the ignition
  • Then hold the unlock button down on the key for a minute, while the key in the ignition
Let us know if that works

the metal rod came off the inside. You need to come in from top with a slim jim to open and then work on the door by taking panel off. Get a locksmith or call the local dealer and ask who is there SAAB roadside assistance. Also Cadillac dealers have a roadside service.
