My 1999 wind star ran out of gas. After filling it it would not start. I checked the puel pressure and it was 2psi. I replaced the fuel pump screens and inline filter. I pulled the fuel line off after the filter and fuel pumped out. However the wind star still will not start. What could it be?

It could be 3 things: 1) Your battery needs to be replaced. If your battery is new or has already been replaced it could be 2) Your starter or 3) Your alternator.

Only Ford products have a Fuel Safety Reset Switch & they only open in an accident Have it towed to a shop & diagnosed Given the age & the fact you ran it out of fuel,I would say the fuel pump needs to be replaced
Roy can you please check fuel filter? If a car used for a while and if gasoline quality is not so high eachtime you fill, residues can be collected at bottom of tank close to the hole which pump is sucking. filter must be clogged. if you manage to find it and remove it, you can understand by blowing from one side. be sure that no gasoline insde please.
could very well be ,on the fuel rail is a valve that looks like a tyre valve ,assistant cranks engine and you push the middle bit in till you see petrol squirt
Check your fuel pump fuse and make sure it isn't blown. The pump needs gasoline to stay lubricated....the pump may have died when you ran out of gas. Can you hear the pump come on when you turn the car on?
Could've burnt up the pump running it dry and filling it up. The cold gas may have damaged the pump when you filled it. Check your fuel pressure to be sure.
When you ran it out of gas you may have ruined the fuel pump. They are very touchy. you can check it by having someone listen under the car by the fuel tank and you turn the key to the on position, be sure not to try and start it. When you turn the key to the on position you should hear the pump prime its self. If you dont the pump is bad if you do then you might look into the fuel filter it may have gotten clogged when it ran out of gas.
