This is caused either by high mileage &/or failing oil piston rings. You could also need new valve seals. Do a compression test to determine if it's just valve seals. If the compression is consistent @ about 130-150psi just have new valve seals installed. If less & uneven rebuild the engine. Good luck!

I would do a cylinder leakdown test,even if you do compression, as eric,suggests. That way you separate rings, as well as intake from exhaust valves.

If the smoke is black it is a rich fuel feed condition, if the smoke is a blueish color the valve stem seals must be replaced.

Blue smoke indicates burning oil. So you oil getting into your cylinders somehow. Could be broken oil ring on one piston. If you have a lot of miles on your car or it has been overheated your engine may need an overhaul.
