This is the TCM (transmission control module) telling the PCM (powertrain control module) to turn on the check engine light due to a fault in the auto trans, the code for the fault is stored in the TCM, to get this cheched you need to have the dealer run a TCM fault code test.

The P0700 code indicates that there's a malfunction with your vehicle's Transmission Control Module (TCM). This computer monitors your transmission and works with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Engine Control Module (ECM) to shift gears when necessary

I have code p0700

The trans axle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to trans axle control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. The ECM stores the P0700 code and it means the TCM detected a malfunction with the trans axle controls.
Possible Causes - Shorted or open circuit within transmission control module (TCM)
- Failure of trans axle control module
Since the P0700 is just and informative code, check the TCM for more codes to resolve the problem.

Car does not run ,I check the code ,it is P0700

Because it is not starting, you should replace the Crankshaft sensor (above the oil filter, back of the engine)-it will cause a P0700-I have a 99 SL2, 178,000 miles

DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request)
Translation: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure. P0700 Information Code The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM. This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes. So basically, the P0700 code is telling you to check the TCM for a transaxle DTC. The TCM can not turn on the check engine light so it has the PCM do it. The dealer probably saw the code P0700 and went to the TCM and pulled out the code stored there telling them the Transmission Solenoid Assembly (TSA) is bad. This is a good example of understanding what the codes actually mean. If the manual you looked at said the TCM is bad and to replace the TCM when you see a P0700, then it is wrong.

P1153 insufficient switching p0700 1996 tahoe

P0700 - Transmission Control System Malfunction, clear the code and see if it comes back, all this code is, is the TCM (trans control module)
telling the check engine light to come on for a possible trans fault, many times it is a false code and means nothing is wrong unless it has another trans code stored with it like a shift solenoid for instance.

P1153 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Insufficient Switching Bank 2 Sensor 1, You would be pretty safe to assume the O2 sensor for cylinder bank 2 ahead of Cat converter is defective.Bank 2 is the side opposite the bank that #1 cylinder is located in.

P0732 Gear 2 Incorrect ratio
P1782 P/ES Circuit Out Of Self Test Range
P1787 2-1 Downshift Error
P0700 Transmission Control System (MIL Request) Malfunction

Here is the deal, u have some serious transmission related faults, in order to sort this out u will need to take this to the dealer, allot of testing is required to get to the bottom of this, if I had to guess I would say the trans is going to have to be overhauled.

Transmission Problems

code P0700 means that there is a code in the trans controller. P0605 means there is an internal failure in the trans controller that can not be repaired. The only step in checking this code is replacing the trans controller. The controller is not the solenoid pack . Its the actual transmission computer.

What is wrong??

HI....
I read your problem.
Here is some information about you problem.
2000 Chrysler cocorde. has a 42LE transmission.

The code P0700, Will set for an internal Trans. controler fault detected. "" For any fault detected on a trans. this is the first code to set. After come the other ones.
If it come alone, you will need to make some test to determinate
If the TCM ( Transmission controler module) is fault.

P0731- Will set if ratio of input RPM to output RPM does not
match current gear ratio.
one of the commom problem of this code is a Trans. slipping condition. or other trans. codes related.

If you can go to a Trans. specialist for a proper diagnostic and possibles solutions.

THank you I hope this information work for you.
