A mechanic would use starting fluid to suppliment the fuel supply. Then check for fuel pressure with a gauge.
It could be the pump relay among other things.
If you expect you old reliable to maintain perfect tune-up status after TWO years, you are expecting too much, it could be many small things. Do a complete inspection before changing so many parts.
maybe try replaceing the ingnition modual. that part can do a lot of weird things to these cars. its located inside the distributor cap, really easy to do. about $40 and 10 mins or less. sometimes as they start to fail they do odd things sometimes but not always
Hmmm.....Thing's to check.. 1) check for loose connection's @ the dizzy, the coil, and alternater 2) fuel injecter's 3)Check for vacuum leak's around the inlet manifold/ throttle body 4) check air control valve.
