Revs comes down for about 3 sec while driving then back to normal

I have a audi a4 turbo 1999 model ,while normal driving my revs just comes down for a few seconds as if stalling without fuel then just go back to normal ,it happened about 4 times while having a sunday drive of about 80kms at various speeds between 40kmh to 120kmh please help as i know nothing about cars and just bought this car a month ago thanks

Check for vacuum leak first. Most likely cause.
You can also run a throttle body adaption (with VAGcom).

99 audi a4 quattro manual it starts up spudders out and dies but if i give it throttle above 1100 rpm it revs seemingly normal

no this is more likley to be clutch slip assuming that your car has a manual gearbox this can be expensive but the good news is that it's nowhere near as expensive as a new turbo and fitting it..But you still need to employ a good local mechanic .Hope this has helped you

Audi a4 1999 When I start the car in the morning it rev's high for a few minutes and then when it drops i can drive. what do i need to fix this problem ???

How high does it rev? It's supposed to hold around 1200RPM until the cats heat up (the secondary air pump causes this) to help with cold start emissions.

i am having the smae problem with my vw polo tdi apart from its like my turbo cuts out completly and the car will not rev over 3000 at all. there is know lights on in the dash but if its dry weather the car is fine. not to handy when u live in scotland HAHA

yes they have hydraulic tappetts in them,changing the oil and filter sometimes help,forte do a top end treatment which is fantastic but difficult to find as its a trade sale only....but they normally get quiter if you rev it up a little...
