Yes it will, there are seals on the shaft, the pump forces fluid down the shaft into the torque converter, then it returns to the transmission.

every possibility that when the light came on you picked up air ( fuel momentarily was not around the pick up line as you went around a corner) and now there is air that needs to be bled out of the fuel system/ pump

Sounds as if you have a glow plug relay problem,this needs to be diagnosed and repaired as necessary

the power steering pump also is connected to the brake booster and both take vaccum this is a verry common problem and sucks, the only way to fix this is to get a new power steering pump, just to have it happen again in a few years.

power steering pump failing .your truck has the hydro brake booster system.your steering pump control steering and brakes if power steering fail your brakes will also fail.

1991 ford power steering pump after replacement should be bled off.you should rev the engine to about 2500 rpm before pump starts pumping and then turn the wheel from stop to stop several times.make sure the fluid is clean .if that doesnt help u need a box.
