Disconnect the battery for 2 minutes to reset the alarm system then hook it back up. Sounds as if the alarms kill switch was engaged, which will prevent the car from starting.
Yea the car is in lock down mode. Something triggered the security system, and as a result, the computer engaged the ignition kill. Disconnecting the battery alone wont solve the problem. What I would suggest is call a local Chevy dealer and ask to talk to a technician, they know the procedure and can walk you throuogh it right over the phone.
Under the dash on drivers side is the black box for the security system. If you look on the box there is a little red button. Push the button for a couple of secounds and it will click and stop your marker lights and dash lights from flashing. It is a stock anti theft part of the security system. Hope this helps.
This is the factory installed "Security" light. It blinks to let you know that the security system is active, and to ward off potential theives. It's part of the factory anti-theft system. Also, it is a diode, and consumes virtually no battery power.
Normal condition; nothing to worry about.
