That little red light should not be killing your battery it has very little voltage and amperage draw. it may be another issue.

How do I stop the anti-theft device red blinking light? Car is off and locked and from the window can see the red light blinking.

the red light drain 0.001amp. from you battery.need 1000 hour to drain 1 amp. test the battery if is any good. do drain test on the car.rust and short will drain battery overnight.after market equipment, light in the trunk or glove box, under hood light etc. disconnect the battery and install amp meter. do the drain test. your computers uses 0.2-0.4amp when sleep.anything over 0.5-.6 amp is bad. after you connect the amp meter give 1min. to turn all systems to sleep mode.Is normal the first minute to be high drain.
ones you know something is wrong disconnect the fuses one at the time and note if any changes. if the fuse you disconnect turn the amps low note what system is connected to the fuse and you will know were is the problem

Antitheft light is blinking and truck wont start

Disconnect the battery for 2 minutes to reset the alarm system then hook it back up. Sounds as if the alarms kill switch was engaged, which will prevent the car from starting.

Can you please detail it...

  • This cuts off the engine during a start under the hood
  • This kills the power from the ignition point
  • The keys may be code protected
  • Check whether your security system is still active even if the doors are open!!
  • Try to click the the unlock\ lock button simultaneously, when the doors are open

Security light on car wont start

Yea the car is in lock down mode. Something triggered the security system, and as a result, the computer engaged the ignition kill. Disconnecting the battery alone wont solve the problem. What I would suggest is call a local Chevy dealer and ask to talk to a technician, they know the procedure and can walk you throuogh it right over the phone.

We replaced the car's battery and now the dash board lights blink

Under the dash on drivers side is the black box for the security system. If you look on the box there is a little red button. Push the button for a couple of secounds and it will click and stop your marker lights and dash lights from flashing. It is a stock anti theft part of the security system. Hope this helps.

Red blinking warning light beside clock in center of dash. What is it?

This is the factory installed "Security" light. It blinks to let you know that the security system is active, and to ward off potential theives. It's part of the factory anti-theft system. Also, it is a diode, and consumes virtually no battery power.
Normal condition; nothing to worry about.
