If you start losing your blower fan speeds, it's probably the blower resistor.
I changed mine on my 2012 Escape, and saved some instructions and pictures at:
http://www.escape-city.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=30645&p=390762#p390762
It's basically behind the glove box. Here is a picture of the
old resistor and the part number I used.

My blower motor on my car won't run when put on low or medium speed only on high what is wrong with it?

The blower motor resister module is bad, even if the blower motor sounds good,it is the cause of the resister failing, the blower motor is drawing too many amps.So change it also, the resister is located near the blower motor, and is mounted on the blower box,but actually goes inside the blower box to keep it cool.If this was at all helpful, please rate thank you.

Blower motor only runs on high

It is the blower motor resister next to the blower motor,it is what controls the speeds. It will have about 7 wires that plug into it,and it is most likely mounted with two screws,it will actually mount on the out side, but fits inside the blower box,to keep it cool, now, even though the blower motor may run quite, and smooth,it is pulling to many amps, this is what causes the resister to go out,my suggestion,is to replace the blower motor also,or you will be replacing the resister often.

Behind right side of I/P, A/C-heater plenum

resister bad would still allow high speed. may be blower motor.

  • The blower motor does not operate/does not operate correctly
  • Open fuse.
  • Tripped circuit breaker.
  • Circuitry open/shorted.
  • Heater blower motor switch (18578).
  • Heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
  • Blower motor relay.

Where is the blower motor resistor located on1997 dodge grand caravan

The blower resister is located very close to the blower motor, behind the glove box,in that ares. The resister controls the speeds of the motor. It will be mounted with two screws, and have about 7 different wires going to the plug in.The resister is mounted on the out side, but actually goes inside the blower box,so it can be cooled. The reason for the resister failing is the blower motor. The blower motor may sound fine, but it is drawing to many amps, and is burning the resister out.

2000 Ford Taurus - A/C fan only works on high; cool air is "available" but not blown as fan won't run, except in "high" position. Any suggestions?

The low speeds(all of them) are distributed threw the fan speed switch to the blower motor resister. The resister is the problem. It is located very near the blower motor. It has two screws mounting it to the blower box.It has a plug in with about 5 to 7 wires.Unplug this plug to the resister.Remove the screws.Pull the resister toward you,it mounts and rest inside of the blower case, this is how it is cooled. Now when you replace the resister, replace the blower motor.Even if the bower motor is running fine, it is pulling to many amps for the resister. It will happen again soon,if you don`t replace the blower motor. If I can help you any more, please let me know.

2002 dodge ram 1500 ac works on hi only . works great on hi only

Hi, this problem isn`t to bad.Replace the blower resister,or resister module, located in the blower box, could be mounted outside under hood in firewall(near windshield)passengers side.It also could be mounted under dash very near blower in blower box,for this resister has to be cooled by the blower motor. This resister is the speeds for your blower.

The blower motor resistor is out on my 2004 dodge stratus.

Hi my name is Allen!

The blower motor resister is located on the passenger side under the dash, it's mounted on the bottom of the A/C Housing.

If you bought the resister from the dealership you will need to make the hole larger for the new style resister so it will fit.

You should also replace the blower motor, because the resistance built up inside the motor is what damages the resister.

Where is the heater blower resistor located

Blower Motor Resistor
The four-speed operation of the blower motor is achieved through the blower motor resistor. The blower motor resistor is mounted under the A/C evaporator/blower motor assembly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the heater blower resister is in the heater plenum under the dash on the passenger side. the resister is in the air stream to keep it cooled. it has 2 screws holding it in and a 3 or 4 wire connector on it. easy repair. buy resister from tascaford.com for 25% off.
