Speedometer sometimes works...

Speed sensor from the transmission. If speedometer doesn't see it,,,,neither can the cruise control

The vehicle speed sensor is probably faulty. Have it checked. it's mounted on the side of the tranny.

You need a new speedometer cable

It maybe the speed sensor that sends the signal to the speedometer or the speedometer itself that's has a short in it.

Most likely a speed sensor is going bad (most cars and truck do not use mechanical speedometer cables anymore) most sensors are located near the differential in rwd cars or near the drive shaft on the transmission. Best bet is to get a Haynes manual for your car to help locate the speed sensor. Remove it and take it to the auto parts store so you can visually compare it to the replacement. Install the new speed sensor and it should restore your speedometer and odometer.

speed sensor runs all three gages. Sounds like trans might have lose or missing bolts. Get it checked out.

Hi...the needle assembly at the speedometer is faulty. Because your dash instrument is all electronics with no cables or moving parts attached, your whole instrument needs to be placed....hope this helps.
